My dad was psychologically and physically absive towards my brother. I didn’t know he wasn’t his son until I was like 17 so I never understood why was he so mean. My mom looked the other way because she didn’t know better and she was very scared of him, I’m not trying to justify her but she grew up in a very very sad environment where she was emotionally and physically abused from a very young age too. I confronted her a few years ago about it (not that I had the right to) and she says the fear would paralyze her every time my dad was enraged and made her wanna hide instead of stick up for us. It’s kinda sad, she has apologized numerous times but the scars this left on my brother will haunt my parents forever. He left home when he was 15 and I was 5, I know it hurt him to leave us behind but he had to save himself. I have kids now and I’m feral, all sharp teeth and claws to defend and protect them.

The deep circles around her eyes are because she could not sleep out of fear he would come into her room. She told her grandmother that she did not like sleeping alone (big clue). She was probably not eating right as she seemed pale. When someone is seriously depressed, they overeat on sugary foods or eat very little. She went through much manipulation, control, fear, and intimidation by Stephan Sterns. She also went through neglect and indifference by her mother. I find it unbelievable the mother did not know. If the mother knew and let it happen, I hope she pays in hell. Who does that to their own child? SMH

My guess is she was abused for a while. That's why she wanted to "live in the woods" she wanted to get away from him.

Sadly this is what happens when single parents want someone in their life so badly that they are willing to allow their children top be subjected to abuse from their new partner. This woman chose a man over protecting her daughter and it sickens me to know that she definitely knew of the abuse. it has been said Madeline slept with the mom and the boyfriend because she was scared to sleep alone. I think the mom knew the bf wanted the daughter because she had to have known he was sick, and she didnt want to lose him so she let him do that to her daughter. She either knew and pretended not to know or she knew ands let him do it so he could stay. either they killed her because the bf got maddie pregnant or they killed her because she was going to tell. Either way this mother is just as guilty as the bf. I pray they are building a case against this mother.
