My favorite question I remember Norm was asked was "Is Norm Hitzges your real name or your show name?" Norm's reply was, "Do you really think I would choose Norm Hitzges as a show name?"

I remember when he was one of the broadcasters on ESPN when it began televising MLB games in 1990. I also remember The National's TV/radio critic Norman Chad savaging Hitzges at every chance he got in his columns. Hitzges was too loud and demonstrative, but Chad was just annoying.
