I used to work in the Foxboro factory, for 2 summers. I never completely understood what the parts I made did! I find it interesting how you said that your unit had the wrong diaphragm. I worked in the capsule room, assembling and welding the diaphragms and flexures onto the capsules, then filling them with oil. Were you actually swapping out the entire capsule?

you swap the capsule if it get corroded and or leaking , loosen the stirrup and re-tighten the fixtures one at the time you should get ~ the 3 PSI zero , the next problem is static alignment , increasing the pressure equally on both sides and still stay at zero differential
