I think you're misreading Hegseth. he's about keeping us strong so we can defend _ourselves_ against attack, not about rolling into foreign countries and trying to convince the goat herders to establish a Roman senate. not everyone has to live like us. we have freedom and democracy and that's fine, but if Yemenites or Sudanese people don't want that stuff, it's not our job to force feed it to them. they'll grow their civilization at their own pace, whatever pace they can sustain. or not. maybe they'll just stagnate. and in that case, that's fine too. not everyone is capable of maintaining a complex civilization, and not everyone is _meant_ to. we have to stop indulging in this myth of universal human equality and pretending it's our duty to raise everyone up to our standards. people are equal under the law and in God's eyes-and in no other sense. stop projecting our beliefs onto people who don't share them. if they want to keep living in the neolithic period, then so be it. leave them alone, in the same way we leave the North Sentinelese people alone.
