Paint it white and add new "Phoenix Graphics" capri rs decals. And maybe put an air damn on it. You wont regret it. I have an 84 black t-top capri rs. The air damn really helps the front end looks

A white 82 RS 5.0 was my first car as a 16 year old.. Boy, the memories made with that car. Lucky to survive them all multiple 4speed transmission rebuilds later. Agree the 7.5 slapper bars should to go back on. Back in the day of these low HP v8's I never raced another street tire car that could launch harder. I always though the slapper bars were to credit for this advantage. The car just had so much more character than the faster 500 hp+ cars of today I have driven.

THAT'S THE CAR!!, I FINALLY KNOW THANK YOU!. You honestly don't know how many years I've been trying to figure out what car had looked like a Foxbody but wasn't seriously!.. My buddies mom had one when I was 9yrs old and it was a two tone White with Blue with a black interior with blue accents and I always loved the look of the steering wheel as a kid.. The mystery is finally solved and I no BS can't thank you enough for helping me solve it. I looked online but only ever came up with Dodge Daytona's and never knew anyone with enough knowledge of cars to help. Sounds ridiculous but it's literally been since I was 13yrs old and getting into cars that I've tried to figure it out lol.. Can't wait to see what happens next with it and I hope/pray that all is well with you, your family and everyone at the shop as always good sir. 🙏🙏🍻 Edit: It's been a 32yr mystery that is now solved. That's how long I've been looking lol.

Definitely you need to put a nice paint job on his car. You have a car without a bunch of bodywork and fillers on it. That itself makes this rare car definitely in need of a proper paint job. I personally owned a very rare 1983 Black Mercury Capri RS 5.0, 4V, 4 speed with the red interior with the highback seats for 13 years and it was a beast. I kept the car completely stock the whole entire time I owned it. I only had to replace the tires, battery, exhaust from the cat back, starter, brakes and a clutch and resurface pressure plate. I Put 133,000 miles on that car and finally sold it. It was still a rust free beast at that age and I wish I never sold the car. It Would be worth probably over $35,000 today.

I've got the same car/year... same color even. Watch the lead joint between roof and quarter panel...best I can figure is they rust from inside out. Possibly not vented properly and mines an original SoCal car. Had to graft in new sheet metal and lead again. Good thing I don't have to pay the bodyman...but he does eat a shitload these days come to thinkof it. Are you gonna ditch the sail panel like I did and add picture window off a later fox Mustang?

Patina for now. Decide on paint later. Big decision. Paint is a big job and must be done right, especially for a build like that. I know guys painting custom cars, putting in over 300+ hours of labor into them... that's minimum $30k.. got to be done right. Either way, looks badass.
