Based on true events, Foxcatcher tells the dark and fascinating story of the unlikely and ultimately tragic relationship between an eccentric multi-millionaire (Steve Carell) and two champion wrestlers (Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo). Directed by Academy Award® nominee Bennett Miller (2005, Best Director, Capote), it is a rich and moving story of brotherly love, misguided loyalty and the corruption and emotional bankruptcy that can accompany great power and wealth.

Boxing is as hard as it comes but you have to be careful with sparring lest you end up a vegetable without anything even on the line. In wrestling you can go 100% relatively risk free so the intensity was nuts.

I've played basketball, baseball, football, track etc. but damn wrestling is a different animal. Our coaches would put a bag of ice on the thermostat. 2 hour practice, no breaks, not an ounce of water and we were all starving. If you took it easy on drills or live wrestling the coaches would catch you and it was back to conditioning. After that your partner would bust your nose open for it. To this day the smell of those mats give me anxiety attacks.

Well when you think about it, its because Dave and Mark both won gold medals at the Olympics in 84 but Dave got all the glory. So when Mark finally got some spot light Dave rejected it instead of being supportive. I mean John du Pont gave Mark a room but gave his brother a whole private house on the property. Plus Dave might have competed more then Mark but Mark was also a gold medal winner in all the major competitions. So yeah you can say that Mark was always resentful and felt stuck in his brothers shadow.
