Thanks! For some of it but for stuff like Wall 1 and Run Like Hell you need a digital unit for those pristine sounds. This will be too dark and muddy for that.

Great review Bjorn! The demo was very reminiscent of the Meddle/DSOTM era. Would you recommend it over the Boonar?? With the recent release of the T-Rex Binson Echorec, will there be a review of this unit on the horizon...

I will do one if they send me one 😉 The T7E Baby is very similar to the Boonar. A bit darker sounding placing it between the Boonar and Memory Man.

Hi Bjorn I don’t know whether you can confirm it or not but from what I’m hearing I can tell the Boonar remains the closest unit to a Binson Echorec T7E. Cheers

Thank you Bjorn. How do you think it compares with Echorec effect built into the Keeley Dark Side? I love the Keeley but it’s limitation of EITHER delay OR modulation sometimes means you might want alternatives to each in your signal path. Plus the T7E has full stereo processing which gives a big advantage in studio routing. Thanks.
@gilmourishofficial3 жыл бұрын
Like all of the Foxgear/Gurus Binson style models, the Baby is kind of a mixture of the sound of a Memory Man and the features of a Binson. I think the Dark Side is an exeptional multi unit but it can't really compete with single stompboxes that will provide a more versatile palette.
@vanessajazp63413 жыл бұрын
Isn’t that Keeley pedal mono only?
@fredmanteghian59133 жыл бұрын
@@vanessajazp6341 yes very mono. Ok if live gigging, less useful in a studio.
@CorbCorbin3 жыл бұрын
But in a studio it’s not that difficult to make the signal stereo. It can be done with any recoding software, whether in post or setup when recording a performance. There are also pedals to make a mono pedal stereo, with phase switches and volume knobs for amp differences. It’s ridiculous to choose not to buy a killer pedal because it doesn’t have stereo outs, snd now I see some complain if there aren’t true stereo ins as well. The Boonar is a much better version of an Echorec, not stereo, and many vintage Echorecs aren’t stereo.
@edcollins937711 ай бұрын
@@CorbCorbin You are exactly right. I recently bough a Mooer Pitch Box to emulate the static chorus effect that EVH popularized during the Van Hagar era. It cost only $70 and it nails the effect although it only does it "mono" by shifting the pitch -10 cents and recombining it with the dry signal. On the other hand, I could have spent $250 or more on an Eventide box that gave me a wider, stereo version of this static chorus effect.. Although it would take 2 Pitch Box's to emulate the stereo effect live (i'd shift the left channel -10 cents with one Pitch Box, and the right channel +10 cents with the other Pitch Box), this can be done in the studio with a single Pitch Box by recording the original guitar track, and processing it twice to create a pair of stereo tracks. While this particular stereo effect was fairly easy to do in a studio, there are a few stereo effects where the differences between the right and left channels are way more complicated, and the exact algorithm might not be known. This is especially true when it comes to some of the sounds created by stereo reverbs and harmonizers. Thus, you could produce a stereo effect, but it might not be exact or desired stereo effect you were after. But you could definitely come up with a stereo effect that was similar and save yourself a lot of money.

This demo sounds really good. What are you using for the fuzz sounds? Also, this pedal seems to have been available for a while now but the only videos I can find are yours and the manufacturer's. Is there some reason why there is little interest in it? It seems like it has all the features of the real thing plus a couple of extras which puts it above the others in this price range like the catalinbread or tc electronic it would seem.

@@gilmourishofficial Thanks! I've just got my T7E Baby and I like it for the most part. I'm using a stratocaster with a similar pickup arrangement as yours. 69 neck and middle with an SSL5 in the bridge. Have you noticed any sensitivity to higher signal levels with the T7E? It's especially apparent with the SSL5. If I do not pick the strings very lightly I will get a harsh and grainy clipping sound in the delay. Would there be any way to adjust the input gain inside the pedal maybe? I know sometimes pedals have trim pots hidden inside for additional adjustments.
@charlespyle24702 жыл бұрын
Ok I think I've found the problem. The pedal is rated for 9-12v power and I have it connected to a 9v daisy chain with my fuzz face. Do you know if the T7E can handle 18v?
