Why? So most of us Parra fans who have been yelling out for a new coach for years can suffer with the inconsistency that has defined BA? Winning to Penrith one week then losing to wooden spooners the next. We already knew this season was done for, BA or no BA. Much better to get rid of him asap so the players can get used to playing without him and look ahead.

Parras style of play(Brads) doesnt work anymore. The big boppers are no match for speed and endurance. Look at the top teams, bris, sharks, penrith, storm. All much more speed than parra. Theres no chasing contact if they are too fast for you too touch.

TBH, as a fan, the Eels needed a change but how it was done and the timing was poor especially with the service BA gave the club! Probably could have held off until the Rd 16 bye where Gutho/Moses would have been back to see any change! Recruitment has a role to play in this as the clubs depth has been poor for a long time and can’t retain juniors. Lomax is a great signing but at his price, I think Parra would have been better served chasing a hooker, prop and some decent wingers instead. No excuses but in 2023, the season ended poor but individual off field/on field incidents hurt and cost the side and they missed the 8 by a game. This year, they fell off a cliff once Moses went down and the swapping in/out of players hurt the continuity of the side making it hard to gain any rhythm as there was no ready available depth. Blaize has been a shining light though! Parra’s boards have been a circus in the past and I thought these guys were to be better but maybe not… not sure these guys listen or know what the fans really want anyway! Disappointing all round! 🤦🏼‍♂️

This all begs the question of what “moral high ground” Wayne Bennett thinks he occupies by insisting he won’t talk to a club unless their coach is sacked?
