That ball the umpires chose was one of the most blatant forms of cheating from umpires that I've ever seen on a cricket field. And I've been watching since the 90's. I don't know if they had money on the game or they just wanted to make it exciting.. but it wasn't just nudging the game in England's direction.. it was literally game changing. The umpires may as well have came out with a hose, and hosed the pitch down. England never changed that ball for the rest of the game.. it was their lucky charm even when it was really old (it was still moving more than the other one when it was 90 overs old). A magic ball.. My suspicion is that it was a ball from 4 years ago. Because the Duke balls this series didn't move around much, but the balls 4 years ago moved around like crazy. I have no proof, no one does.. but if I am right, they gave them a ball from 4 years ago that was 10 overs old.. replacing a 30 over ball that wasn't moving much. It was ridiculous.. and this is coming from someone who thought England were the better team and deserved to win the final 3 games.. it was hard to support Australia because it felt like England were the better team during the second half of the series. But not when the umpires do stuff like that. Also, Cummins isn't a great captain, Smith is better. Australia were lucky in the first few games and were lucky to hold onto the Ashes, but they fought back well in game 5 and the umpires changed the game. I'm surprised it wasn't talked about more. It sounds like sour grapes as an Australian but it was really blatant. Way worse than the Bairstow thing that the English kept whinging about, and that run out thing wasn't even against the rules. I'm curious to see if Australia will try to get revenge with some funny ball stuff during the next Ashes in Australia, but they won't even need to because England never wins a game in Australia anyway.

How is it cheating? England didn’t pick the ball the umpires did who are neutral. So stop whingeing

Australia were robbed of a series victory by Joel Wilson and Dharmasena. Ball-gate was a disgrace. It was match deciding and series deciding.

What makes me laugh is when Kez ran out Porky Bairstow, u see Cam Green & Patty appealing to the square leg umpire. In one of the angles u also see Marnus turning around appealing to nobody. How he didn't know where the square leg umpire was & hat's just typical Marnus & his bogan ways, that one typical dumbarse mate we've all got

Enjoy that. I also enjoy the great cricketer KZbin channel during the ashes we need to take a more light-hearted view of it really to be honest but England won nothing and it’s been over 3000 days now since they held the ashes and it will be closer to 3700 by the time they come back and play for the ashes which is a long time. In fact, I reckon what we should do is put up a big sign at first test. It says how many days since I’ve actually won the ashes, in fact, we should make T-shirts everyone in the crowd should have a T-shirt with the amount of days that I have had since that we and infuriate them even more and then we’ll just do what we do every Home series and that’s rolled and four Nil

On the cricket side of things, I think England were the better team during the 5 games. On the cheating side of things, the umpires take the cake with that ball swap during the 5th game. On the whinging side of things, England are undefeated and can never be beaten. When England let the cricket do the talking, I thought they were the better team and I would even cheer for them at times because at times Australia weren't worth cheering for. Love the crowds as well, great energy. Better than Australia crowds. But yeah.. whinging poms.. there's a reason we call them that. Forget about winning the series, hopefully England can win a game when they play the next Ashes in Australia. That's how lopsided all of this is.. England need lopsided ball swaps from umpires to make it close in game 5. In Australia.. no ball swaps required.. 5-0. 3-0 if there is rain around. Feel free to bring up the sandpaper because that was low and deserves to be called out. But I can guarantee you, no English will be cheering on the Aussies if they think they are playing the better cricket during the next series in Australia. And there will be no Aussie old timers making a fool of themselves attacking the English players because the English embarrassed a dopey Australian batsmen during a run out/stumping. To be honest, I would have liked to have seen England win 3-2 because they were playing a positive minded upbeat brand of cricket. But not because of umpire ball swaps. And not because of whinging about run outs. It was the funniest thing.. when Australia were winning, it was endless whinging. When England was winning, the whinging stopped.. even if there were things to whinge about. But then I wonder.. maybe they just live in a country that has miserable weather and we should feel sorry for them.
