Regardless, I think the lengths the SF went in regards to punishing Lohmeier is extreme - officers get sacked, freeze their careers, etc, but to be entirely removed and lose pension? Hell, Oliver North was allowed to voluntarily request to retire from the Marines and managed to keep his pension in the end after the entire Iran-Contra affair, but don't make the mistake of suggesting DEI has it's faults...

There have been plenty of times in history where someone other than the conventional military personnel helped in something adjacent to combat. Morale for example. Chaplains are another example. We aren't really presented with anything other than his opinion so we have no way to know if the situation truly was political in the way he presents it. I’m a USAFA grad. Not the first time I’ve heard about these agenda driven DEI initiatives being prioritized over operational effectiveness. Truth be told, due to the nature of the military (e.g soldiers & airmen being thrust together into operational units from all walks of life, representing all races, all socioeconomic groups, all religions, and both genders), the services are already more diverse, organically, than just about any other organization or entity in society. That’s fact, not an agenda-driven talking point. DEI focus in the military is trying to fix something that isn’t broken, and therefore must logically be about politics, not rational behavior.

Psychology is the biggest growth factor of any company. It’s all to create a like minded approach in any industry youre in. So regardless of race or creed each person in said establishment has a likeminded attitude and approach towards achieving a common goal. The military is a business at the end of the day. The business will continue to run whether one agrees with current policies or not. Some things are just better left unsaid especially at his level.

There have been plenty of times in history where someone other than the conventional military personnel helped in something adjacent to combat. Morale for example. Chaplains are another example. We aren't really presented with anything other than his opinion so we have no way to know if the situation truly was political in the way he presents it. It's more likely he was already political and his dismissal was repercussion since he contacted and did an interview with a political undertone on a political channel, as he wouldn't have the incentives to do so as retaliation.
