Congratulations to the big fella on catching two pike and winning the competition. I think I would have liked to see him shown bait casting reels and rods, as I'm sure he is familiar with fixed spool gear, and as he is a big lad, get down on one knee to lower his profile. YT videos often present pike fishing-especially lures- as easy, nah , its like somebody described war- long periods of inaction and boredom interspersed with frenetic action. Well done big man, hope you go on to catch some more esox.

Good angling, well done 👍. The only difference i can see is that I keep the rod low all the time so that if I need to pull in to the fish it's alot easier to set the hook than if your rod is already high as then you've got to pull almost behind your head to set the hook which is alot more difficult and has the potential to lose the fish.

Hi I just tried out some pike fishing on the river avon I caught a monster but couldn't land it so it doesn't count. Then 5mins after setting up again I caught another giant it must of been huge u no when u no. I panicked because it was too dark I only had my phone for a light 🙃 not properly expected any catch anything and with that mind set I wish I didn't have. I lost the giant again but this time saw the mouth and I was shocked 😲. The lure wasn't even hooked after 2 secs of my jaw hitting the ground oh yeah I forgot the fight with it lasted 1hour some how I was shout for help and even left a voice message on my m8s phone asking him for a longer landing net. That was my problem my landing net was tiny and I'm on the highest bit of the avon just of the feeder canal. I went back every day try and catch it in same spot. Lost about 5 spinners now. 😆 it's actually gave me Moore motivation to catch a giant pike or catfish bless hope u lije my story im from Bristol

i wannt 2 go saltwater fishing wuth u and 1 rod and catch alought of fish because ive never gone fishing in the ocean and i lov all the types of fish in it the bigest fish ive ever caught was a catfish at lk gaston it was 6 pounds i used a bottle and hook it broke off the dock were i tied it and i threw rocks behind it and it swam 2 other dock and i picked it up out of the water im. only 13 so it was amazing to catch it so i would lov 2 go fishing with u some time this summer

Can i ask for advice what of its quite deep in the lake u fishing but u cant let yout lure sink at all cuz it will get weed on what should i do ? New pike fishermam i go pike fishing each week at least once but didnt catch any pike in like 5 months

Don't let it sink to the weed and work your lure above the weed if you're using jigs or lures like replicant. Heavier lures will have to be worked fast to stop them sinking into the weed. The other option is to use a crankbait like a Salmo hornet and crank it above the weed, pausing it now and then and letting in float up then cranking it down again. Pike will often hit the lure as it stops and begins to rise. Hope this helps and good luck 👍🏼🎣

I have a problem of consumerism in fishing. Fishing used to be simple and cheap means to provide food, now it’s become overcomplicated mess of microtransactions, seems you cannot fish without dedicated $1k tackle for each niche type of fishing

americans have a different view than those in british isles , what ive noticed is the fact fly fishing was rich mans sport now match fishing and carp fishing has easily becaome far more expensive , even shore fishing at high level
