I've heard from people that have had border collies that they're like that. Completely wired and ready to go, but once they're given a task, they have the amazing ability to focus on nothing else and channel their energy into completing that task.

@@mish375 yes, they’re actually incredible problem solvers. You send one out to bring in a herd of sheep and if one’s way out to pasture on its own, it’ll know to break out and drive that loner into the group first before bringing the whole herd in. Just next level stuff.

We lost our Border Collie Abbie a few weeks ago shortly after her tenth birthday. She battled Cushings disease the last two years of her life. She did not lose her spirit and happiness the entire time of her sickness even in her final hour. Border Collies are some of the sweetest dogs and we are looking forward to the next one!

We had to put our Border Collie, Oscar down because he had cancer and had a whole amount of pain. I miss him so bad. ♡ ☆Border Collies are amazing dogs☆

It was so cute when Fame licked the reporter. Such a happy and energetic puppy who saw running the course as play. She was excited to get out there and do her thing. When I have the means to, I plan on adopting a border collie because they're so cute, fluffy, smart, loving, and protective. They also have the most adorable barks.

My collie always amazed me at how much ground he could cover without appearing to move that quickly and how utterly outmatched any dog that tried to chase him was. We climb munros and unless its a hot day he barely even pants. They are beautiful and graceful machines with human emotions and moods.

My border collie and I were at a country fair, we live in the city.. There was a dog competition for Collies and we entered for fun - he came second even though had none of the training the others had. Afterwards, he acted like a super star for weeks ha ha. Their intelligence is off the charts and a constant surprise

What I found amazing is that at first you kinda see the 'warmup' when Fame seems quite unruly, like crazy and 'full of beans'. Then comes the time when he joins the starting blocks where, like a champion, he gets focused on the upcoming race and then, he releases all his energy at the speed of light! What a race! he absolutely killed it!... Even if I have a slight personal preference for Golden retrievers and Rough (scottish) Colley (lassie), Border Collies are really an awesome breed especially when it comes to speed and agility!

I miss my Bandit. Now that I live in a "normal" house with no large fenced yard and no longer out in the country where if she hops the fence to chase the deer she is safe, I will stay with my little sheltie poodle than she is my last. I barely keep up with walking her when I USED to keep up with Bandit. It would be unfair to get another dog after her that I might not outlive. But I am sure the shelter would be happy to let me walk some of theirs from time to time when that day comes. Maybe even foster on occasion.

Smartest dog in the world...my mom left to see my sister who just gave birth for a month. She was gone, didnt come home from work that night or in the morning and he just KNEW that not only was she gone, she would be gone A WHILE, and then he spent a lot more time with me, more affectionate afterwards, since it goes down from 3 to 2. Lol priority is my dad, then my mom, then me.

If anyone that has never owned a border collie thinks they want to own one, I highly recommend they watch a video like this. I've had three and they are like this ALL THE TIME!!!! It's an absolute blast. But you have to be ready to get them out and go... they are an active dog....
