I don’t give a damn about talent. Talent to me is the most overrated attribute for any player in sports. Yes being talented helps but you don’t have to be god level talented to be all time great. Tom Brady joe Montana and Peyton Manning are the three top QBs of all time. We’re they physically gifted players no. But the leadership, clutchness, Field General, IQ, pocket awareness and all of the intangible makes them so great.

5 SB appearances, 4 wins since the 'no way, no how' prediction. I brought that up on his twitter, and he blocked me, so I'm here instead, reminding him. And asking: How can someone that's been so wrong for so long about something still have a job in the industry? This is the equivalent of a surgeon refusing to wash his hands, a pilot refusing to check his instruments, and an architect refusing to use foundations in a building. Realistically you can’t really rank football players who play different positions because each position requires you to do something completely different from the other. In basketball one player can do everything(shoot, defend, block steal etc) but in football, that’s not the case.

I get exactly what Chris is saying. Makes total since. The greatest FOOTBALL PLAYER is not Tom Brady. Tom Brady is the greatest/most accomplished QB. I know people have a hard time understanding that but it’s quite simple. I wouldn’t mind just keeping players ranked by position and not doing a all positions together ranking.

First Tom Brady would’ve retired 10 years ago if he played in the 60s 70s 80s or 90s it’s a different game versus the bloodsport of those previous decades. How does the greatest quarterback ever take an undefeated season and lose to the wildcard Giants? That should have been a brilliant performance like the Namath guaranteed win. Then his chance for revenge and the Giants D once again proves he can only play in a well protected pocket. Pats turned into the Red Sox vs Yankees then Philadelphia with the easy dropped pass and the gift from Seattle one of the stupidest calls ever in a Super Bowl and Atlanta choked with some dumb plays. Add the obvious lying like a little kid getting suspended as if he was in high school. Excellent QB but had outstanding offensive lines brilliant coaching that would find those hidden gems who would be game changers so not even close to the greatest football player.
@keithgupton9349
@keithgupton9349 3 жыл бұрын
The quarterback position is so dependant on other players doing their job so he can be effective. For starters, if your offensive line stinks, the quarterback won't be effective especially if he lacks mobility. A good running game helps the quarterback. A good WR definitely helps the quarterback. Also a great defense helps the quarterback in terms of producing turnovers and field position. The fact is, there's a bias towards quarterbacks because the narrative is quarterback is the most important position in football, something I personally don't believe is true. Without some of the things I previously mentioned, I don't care how good your quarterback is, he won't have much success on a consistent basis.

@aidanpfeifer5247
@aidanpfeifer5247 3 жыл бұрын
That’s literally incorrect. Those “elite” defenses are all ranked by one metric (scoring defense) and that metric is flawed since it is impacted by numerous factors outside of the defense, such as your offense, special teams, quality of opponent, weather, etc. A lot of Brady’s defense looked better than they actually were since they had the best offense in the league for the past 20 years. A great example would be the 2017 and 2018 defenses Brady had. They ranked top 10 in scoring, but repeatedly got owned by any competent quarterback, and actually got torched by numerous bad quarterbacks, yet they for some reason are regarded as good when they weren’t. Brady has had good defenses in his career yes, but he’s also had numerous average to below average defenses as well.

@SShaBazzz
@SShaBazzz 3 жыл бұрын
I agree that Tom Brady is number 1 greatest football player. Reason being is Brady does have the most skill. In order to achieve what Tom Brady achieved, you need skill. Lets look at AARON Roger's and Payton Manning for example. Chris, you talk about throwing and accuracy. You know Aaron and Payton for those things and they couldnt produce wins as much as Brady. Brady literally has more superbowl rings than Franchise. Next, I have a problem with Chris' assessment saying you need a certain amount of athleticism and strength. Well, I would call that bias on your part. Because what you said is subjective. What we know objectively, is what ever Brady does, it produces wins. And he didn't need the strength and athleticism which actually argues in favor of Tom Brady. Yes, Jerry and LT are head and shoulders above their position. Well, so is Brady. What other QB has produced as many wins as he does? What other QB has even reached the superbowl as many times as he did? What other QB, let alone player, and even franchise has ever won as many rings as Brady. Isnt the main job for a QB is to guide his team and lead his team to victory. So everything else is superficial if you're saying strength or athleticism.
