"Curry doesn't have that one memorable moment in an NBA Finals series" is an unfair argument unless I hear Rob Parker name 1 unforgettable Finals moment for every player he considers top 10. I agree that a lack of FMVPs keeps Curry out of the top 10 because we've always ranked guys with multiple FMVPs (Bill Russell the exception because FMVP wasn't introduced until 1969) there. If you weren't the most valuable player for most of your wins then you're not a top-10 guy. Also why do we put asterisks on KD's rings but not those same 2017+2018 rings for Curry? We're applying a double standard. Either those rings have asterisks for everybody on those teams or none of them.

I mean saying he is overprotective would be foolish and against the facts. Curry was the best player on the Warriors even when Durant was there but yet The media said Durant was the best player. If the media was so for him like Broussard said he would have two finals MVPs because there is a huge argument to be made he deserved 2018 and he especially deserve 2015. If he was so protected by the media how come they ignore the fact that his statistics actually go up in the finals except shooting percentage which for everybody basically goes down. Also if he was protected by the media the media wouldn’t be saying he needs a finals MVP. If Curry was so overprotected how come the media makes up lies and ignores the fact that he does have moments in game five and game six of the 2015 finals he scored 37 points in game 5. He had 30 points total in the fourth quarters in game five and six . In fact in those two games he scored 25 of the final 26 points between those games. So it is nonsense to say if he doesn’t have any moment people just choose to ignore his moments. Rob and Skip and Nick are just wrong on this one and they refuse to give it up. Even if you say he doesn’t have the best moments that’s false too because he has one of the greatest performances in recent memory of a fourth quarter showing in game five and even in game six of the 2015 finals.

To Rob's point about what it means when people say Steph is overprotected: We need to put into context those things people say when they talk about "he doesn't need to do x, y, z." When people say those things, it's in reference to the question "Is Steph curry an all time great?" "Is he in the top 10 all time?" "Is he one of the best players in the league today?" It's not a blanket statement saying he doesn't need any of those because he's perfect as he is, it's in response to people who say because he hasn't done those things he's somehow not a generational talent that has had a tremendous effect on the game. The reason why any recently drafted rookie can have the green light to shoot the 3 on 30% or less efficiency, or why teams exist in the league whose identity is now 3 or die, is because of this dude. The argument is simply that even without those extra things, he has a legacy that is cemented. He's already someone to remember and place with the all timers.

I don’t think he’s overprotected and I think he is criticized fairly. Main reason is because no one is talking about Steph in the goat conversation. He’s not considered top 5 of all time. When you’re in the goat conversation you’re held to a higher standard. Listening to the callers I realize why some host don’t take calls. Idk if it’s a new thing but when did we start discrediting championship because certain players were injured

Chris Broussard, you and SAS have the most common sense. The rest are just delusional clowns. Steph is top ten all time pt average in finals and to add to that, he was constantly getting double teamed against the Cavs in 2015 and 2016 so he had to give up the ball and provide multiple hockey assists to initiate the offense. Still averaged 26 6 and 5 in those finals And people say he doesn’t show up. Most analysts don’t truly watch the games

Chris Broussard can be very hypocritical. When he's arguing the Jordan vs Lebron: Goat Debate he'll look at every little thing he can to poke at LeBron in his resume for why he's second. And his justification is when we're talking about the greatest of all time we're gonna nitpick. Well when we're talking about Steph Curry as being the greatest Shooter of all time and Rob Parker has an issue with Steph Curry Not having any playoff clutch moments or buzzer beaters Chris thinks he's hating...smh. The same justification should apply. When we're talking about the greatest of all time we're gonna nitpick. And in all honesty when we're talking who do we want to take the last shot out of the all time greats no one says Steph Curry. That's a great point. Keep the same Energy

In 2015 most people agreed Iggy was deserving of FMVP when you watched those NBA finals and how effective he was. Steph was the best player on the Warriors but Iggy was the “Most Valuable”. I’m not even a Warriors fan but there was a fan poll voting on First Take that like 70% agreed Iggy should’ve won it over the Steph, including the judges that awarded it to Iggy. So seeing this narrative now that “Steph was robbed” because he doesn’t have one is still crazy to me, but not shocking.

@lessondburn39712 жыл бұрын
See ppl like Rob Parker and Skip Bayless neglect to mention that in game 2... The Warriors, thanks to steph, were up by so much going into the 4th that he didnt even have to play. I would say that.. combined with what he did in game 4 more than cancels out ur little nit-picky narratives.

How can Ric say Steph hasn't done anything to be criticised about? He blew a 3 - 1 lead in the finals with two games in his home floor. Well Rob Parker is looking for one moment to define Steph's playoff legacy, I think it could also be a game. it does not have to be one singular moment. It could be like MJ's flu game, or Giannis's game 6 50 pts/14 rbs/ 5 blocks game you know... Those games didn't come down to one moment, but the whole game was a moment! Steph can have a game like that... He actually did in game 4, and if the Warriors win, that will be Steph's, 'moment.'
