Good films don’t come from big budgets. Films become good when you shoot movies, practice, Keep growing your skills driven by passion. This young editor and colorist is 1st year after graduation. Yesterday he tried his best, today he strives to be better.

1) Where did you get the drone footage. B) What camera were you using. 3rd) Did you credit the Deadpool writers for that ending sequence that was clearly from Deadpool.
@IndependentVFX7 жыл бұрын
1) The drone shot was created from an aerial still I took myself and the drone 3D model is from the Jet Strike pack, lit and rendered in Element 3D. B) The camera was a Red, not 100% sure which model. 3rd) I must have missed that scene in Deadpool, I don't remember seeing it - you got a link we can watch?
Sheesh... how about that. You are the second person to mention Deadpool but I honestly thought there was nothing to it until seeing this. Similar idea for sure.

You all are some haters. There are plenty of films with similar concepts. Only rule in movies is, do your version well and that's what this deserving filmmaker did. This is in no way a copyright violation. Not even close.

@IndependentVFX7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, we shot on a borrowed RED camera - not sure what model it was. We had originally planned to shoot with a bigger light setup to get the Michael Bay "13 Hours" look for the outdoor scenes, but the generator we borrowed wouldnt start so our DOP ended up lighting the scenes of the tactical guys with battery powered LED light panels. The rest was ambient light from street lights at the location.

Always some damn try hards that have to ruin contest like this for anyone who doesn't have a significant budget. Good film nonetheless but there were others way more creative & deserving than this one
@IndependentVFX7 жыл бұрын
Just for the record Beef Twinkie - we had zero budget on this. The project was written, shot and edited after hours in the evenings after a day at work and on weekends. I agree with you though, there were some amazingly creative films submitted. I honestly didnt think we were going to win when I saw how good some of the other entries were. I guess in these creative contests you just never know...
@LMDigitalMovies7 жыл бұрын
Regardless of the production costs, I still think the film's story and visual appearance was fantastic and certainly deserved a win. I was very impressed when seeing it. I suppose I could go with the cliche and say it makes me proud to know you're a fellow South African.
@mattlaw13507 жыл бұрын
"zero budget"...For your own self respect you should donate your prizes from the contest to some beginner film makers who could really use it. I should stop now before say something I'm going to regret .... Congratulation
@IndependentVFX7 жыл бұрын
thanks LMDigital! I appreciate that
@IndependentVFX7 жыл бұрын
Please, dont hold back. Have your say... its always interesting to hear what people really think/feel. Why "zero budget" in inverted commas Matthew? And what makes you think we arent beginner film makers who could really use the gear?
