Hurricane Michael rapidly intensified into a Cat 5. I don't remember if it was 24 hours, but it was close to that; it was never expected to get that strong. But it had upper level troughs helpling it grow, and it skirted between Mexico and Cuba without really making landfall so by the time it hit Florida, it had only been passing over very warm water.

I'm not a conspiracist or anything like that but I think it's quite odd how all these hurricanes that end up in the Atlantic never hit North Carolina in any sort of severe category. they always end up in the Gulf Coast between Texas and Florida and I want to tell you something I know damn well that we have a lot of hot water outside of our coast and yet hurricanes never come our way and I'm not hoping for a hurricane or anything but I think it's just strange how you have multiple hurricanes that can hit in the same area like last year and the year before that but yet here in North Carolina nothing happens so I'm wondering just how much is the government really involved with our weather because it seems oddly strange how the hurricanes are always focused between as I said before Texas and Florida that's it
