I've been privileged to watch Bryan in two different markets. As a kid, I watched Bryan in Louisville during the great snow of January 1978. Then two decades later, I found myself in Miami and he was there as well. He's one of the great ones.

Oh yes. I lived in Hialeah back then and kept a watch on Mr Norcross up until my power was cut. He got us through that night. Andrew was my worst storm to be anywhere near.

He was fantastic during hurricane Andrew! So brave and comforted us, told us how to be safer and get into bathrooms and use mattresses to save ourselves in rooms. He was a hero to many Floridians, me included

He called you right. Lots of folks like you end up dying from your foolishness. Just because you're alive doesn't mean you were right. I've seen results of people throwing hurricane parties and they all end up perishing together. You don't look brave if that's what you're going for, not at all. Better be careful shaking your fist in the face of God.

I was living on a Trawler at Hardies Yatch Basin 21 Ave. NW N. River drive Miami River when Andrew came to Miami. The marina was far up river and considered "safe harbor" but I put 12 one inch lines on her and stayed at a girl friend's house. Listened to Mr. Norcross as the SHTF during the night. He received high praise for his job during that night's event rightfully so, as he did a fine job. The old man that owned the Marina a friend of mine Dan, said if you want an adventure and it is Cat 1, maybe Cat. 2 it should be fine to stay (my boat was a very salty 51 Ft. Thompson trawler) but I had already decided no adventures of the type that might be my last thank you. A friend who also lived there on a 30 something foot sail boat Hank decided to stay. He was a former combat pilot during Vietnam and all around bad azz. Later after the storm, talking in Dan's office he said, "that was the scariest he had been ever in his life". Including having to go out to the cock pit and crank the engine and try to push the boat to oppose some of the wind forces threatening to rip the piling or bust the dock lines. No mattress in Hank's case but I was ready with a mattress to jump into the tub with my girl if needed. Aw the memories, his voice brings it all back, funny really.

I live on the SE coast of Florida. I remember how safe we thought we were when Ian turned to the SW side. But ended up experiencing several tornado from the outer bands. Delray Beach had significant damage.

Never seen a storm/hurricane look like this. I know the west side is always weaker but this is weird. Bryan knows his stuff. If it comes through Tallahassee it will cause a lot of devastation due to the number of pine trees. They get caught up in each other and fall like matchsticks.

Yesterday he used the word "pristine", as in "conditions are pristine for development". In reality, this pocket of dry air has always been present and conditions were never pristine. At this level, there's no room for imprecise language, especially from someone with experience.
