Yeah. The first season he had Damon Hill as a teammate and the clear first driver and still fought him and Schumi. The second season was his win. Woooow. Wild. Shall we go at Hamilton for not winning 2007 now? Like, wtf is the bar? Then he went to a team a friend was bringing up that was so abysmally mismanaged it was a joke. Big whoop. He had significantly fewer starts than DR and managed a championship and more wins, while fighting shumi to the point that he tried to kamikaze him. The JV slander is crazy. Tell me you never watched him race without telling me. He absolutely had slumps (but so did others like Kimi lmao) - but you can't take away his performance in his prime. Let's also look at those podiums, shall we? Because DR generally had 2nd/3rd/4th best cars, or upper half anyway, and now with racing bulls is arguably back there. BAR was not that. But JV only had 2-3 years in a decent team as their primary drive, and managed 23 podiums of 163 races. 14% podium rate. DR, with more reliable cars and a generally better position on average, had a 12.9% podium rate, with 32 in 248 entries. So yeah, stat doesn't seem as impressive with that comparison, much less the context around it, nor does the win rate. 2.8% vs 6.7%. Over double. You really can't dog on JV for dropping off hard, either, because look at Danny. Red Bull was classic, Renault was good, McLaren singlehandedly made him worth PAYING MILLIONS TO LEAVE EARLY, while he was singlehandedly bringing in crazy money and reputation/media attention to a team working on becoming a branding giant.

Dan's "false start" was a clutch issue, he didnt start early, the car creeped forward. Fuck me with Logan Sargeant though, Dan built a 4.3 second gap to Stroll and nearly erased that penalty, so Logan crashes and relegates Dan to P13. Dan then catches a slow Yuki with worn tyres and enough time to catch Stroll (probably not Alonso), but Yuki is a toddler at heart and fought Daniel so hard he fell off the track trying to keep him behind for ego reasons... Why do I always support "underdogs"? I could support Piastri and be guaranteed to be happy in the next few years, but after the way he left Renault I apparently decided "nah, let's support the unluckiest driver on the grid who's strengths are developing a car ao his teammates can go onto glory, or saving his tyres so go real fast at the end of a race only to catch Magnussen who rather crash into every car on the grid multiple times than to allow someone to pass him cleanly even once - seriously, Kmag is a pro at ruining races for others and still achieving nothing himself, he's just lucky that sometimes his teammate is ahead so he can lie and say he was being a team player rather than just a giant c*nt...
