I met Norwood Fisher when Fishbone played at the Masquerade in Atlanta. He is without a doubt one of the nicest and coolest brothers I've met. People like Kanye West could learn alot from him. Thanks for everything FISHBONE members past and present.

Norwood and Fishbone have earned MUCH respect. Fishbone's music opened me to a whole new world of sound. Angelo's lyrics opened my mind and made me aware of many things. Nobel men with nobel intent.

Norwood is the man!!!!! His name should be among bass greats such as Les Claypool, Flea, Bootsy Collins, and a bunch of other bass badasses that I can't think of. I've had the pleasure of seeing Fishbone about 5-6 times and I've talked to Norwood a few times. Fishbone should be a household name but for some reason (?) they aren't. They're still out there touring it up with the O.G. lineup. Their music blew my teenage mind starting in the late 80's with albums like Truth and Soul, Reality Of My Surroundings, hell, all of 'em!! Norwood is on point!!!

Having lost so much faith in the majority of 90s alternative bands, there remains a constant that is Fishbone...thankfully. I've been playing bass since 1992, and I've always been working on different techniques for the slapping and tapping I employ. Norwood is the man, I think he would enjoy the stuff I do as it has that childish yet responsible approach. Thanks so much for the video, and feed the sparrows!

@natrockskate well, although he is slapping with his thumb ,he is also strumming with his finger nails..thus it's not exactly just slapping. THe sixteenth notes he's getting are achieved with the fingers. But you could say it's a varied slapping technique.

If you put Norwood, Stewart Copeland (The Police) and.... I dunno some avant-garde guitarist (Buckethead?) in a room together, the product of those jams would be game-changing. But until then, i'll light up another bowl and get my mind thoroughly blown by Fishbone and Bad Brains.

MSRP is $5,500 for a 5-string, but you should be able to find one used for around $2,000 or less. I've seen a number of German-made warwicks (and none of that STD or rockbass shit) going on the talkbass forums for around $1,000 - $1,500 lately, so shouldn't be too hard to get a top of the line warwick for under two grand.

Fanning seems like a fail to me, how is it any different to strumming? The Craw is simply 2 fingered popping. The way he uses the technique is stupid too from what this video shows, it doesn't ever change pattern. Hang loose is the only passable "Secret technique"
