In this video I fog back to the job site to do a few punch list items such as extending the 2nd floor AC dedicated circuit, patch the holes in the the cinderblock foundation with hydraulic concrete, and relocate a circuit from the 2nd floor panel to the 1st floor panel. Also in this video is a short review of all of the work I’ve done ion this neighborhood. I hope you’ll enjoy this video as much as I did it making it.

Nice work, Ron. I like your attention to detail. Funny story here. About 30 years ago, I changed my old fuse panel to a Seimans panel (Canada) and when the inspector came out, he thought I was a licensed electrician due to the quality of my install.

@JohnFallucca-r5g Don't judge. FYI, KZbin didn't exist 30 years ago. There were these things called books, even an electrical code book. You should try reading one someday. You might learn something. I also worked in commercial construction.

@@mattschoular8844hey pal, I did a Union apprenticeship, I worked all over New Jersey, New York, and the southern and western regions of the US. It took me years to understand what Ronny is talking about. My code books and school books look like my work boots, so don’t tell me about reading books. I’ve done more load calculations than you could ever dream of. All I’m saying is that you could watch a couple of you tube videos and think you equate to a journeyman wireman. Like I said your inspector had no idea of what he was looking at because it’s guys like you that use neutrals as hot legs and cut ground rods and not to mention, you probably the guy who leaves an 1 1/2 in a J-box…

Hi Ron. I did a lot of renovations in my home in Clark over the last 16 years and did them all with permits and inspections. Charlie was the inspector for all of my jobs, along with Mike, who was the Head of Code Enforcement and the plumbing/building inspector. They both, along with the office staff, were always very friendly and were willing to work with and educate the DIY homeowners. Sadly, they both retired and Clark now has a whole new staff of inspectors. Hopefully they will be as friendly and accommodating.

Enjoy you channel. I am retired now but when I would put a pull chain light or other type of light at an electrical panel, I installed a feeder circuit directly off the main lugs with the appropriate inline fuse for the size conductors, that way you can kill power at the main breaker and the rest of the panel and still have light and power for other devices even though the panel is deenergized.

Hey Ron Romex in outside conduit is not legal Screwing through a pvc LB eliminates weatherproof rating Using no changeover behind LB is not correct along with extending wire with more romex Tying in the pullchain with a receptacle to a conventional breaker is not code, since it's an outlet inside a garage Let me know your thoughts Great job otherwise Watch you all the time Thanks and be safe
@electricianron_New_Jersey
@electricianron_New_Jersey 2 ай бұрын
A. The NM in the conduit was existing and not my work. B. If you're an electrician I know for sure that you've also used a screw through a PVC LB for better support. C. The NM from the LB to the panel does meet the code requirements otherwise you'd have THHN/ THWN at each outdoor light fixture and receptacle.
@attilagyurovszky1070
@attilagyurovszky1070 2 ай бұрын
@electricianron_New_Jersey with the exception that romex to outdoor fixtures go to a box with a fastener, button or screw connector, if there is no box obviously that's not code

Hey Ron I have a question. when you put ground rods in, are you concerned at all that if lighting hits the ground near the house creating a gradient that the electricity in the ground will go up the metal rods and into your breaker possibly causing damage whereas if you don't have outdoor rods you don't put yourself at risk for this? I know what the code says so I'm not asking you to cite it I'm asking your opinion Thank you
@electricianron_New_Jersey

Of course it could happen because with lightning anything is possible, but is it likely to happen? Not in my opinion. Lightning is still a very unknown subject. There are no lightning experts so to speak.
