Field programmable Gate Array's are a bit over hyped and also wrongfully criticized for being emulation. It IS hardware not emulation, as the name suggests it's an array of logical gates that can be programed thus you can make any chip you want as long as the FPGA has enough gates and you have an accurate schematic and the knowhow to reproduce it. There in lies the crux as the FPGA core is only as accurate and true to hardware as it's creators managed to reverse engineer the og hardware and make it. Also they generally do not reproduce any undocumented OG hardware quirks or interactions with other hardware that might exist. In short an FPA core can be almost 1/1 chip accurate at best but also far worse and buggier than some software emulators at worst. They are however the best replacements you can get without access to replacement OG chips and thus vital for preservation.

The GBC_Colorfix setting is for when you're playing a GB game using the GBC color palette. Games like Donkey Kong and Super Mario Land 2 will have weirdly thick sprites when that setting is off. Turn it on to simulate certain aspects of the original reflective screen to make the sprites look correct. If you turn the setting on when you're place a GBC game, it will screw up the palette and you'll see the problems like you saw on Tetris DX. (Which is ironic as the original Tetris GB definitely needs the setting on.) What I generally do is I save with the setting off, then flip the setting on when I'm playing a GB game without saving the setting. That way I can just take care of it when I start the game and not worry about it.

It's a great console. A GBA version would be so good especially if it retains GB and GBC compatibility
