Velma was horribly miscast. They took one of the most beautiful women in the world, and tried to make her look unattractive by putting her in glasses. Then only to have her take off her glasses, and suddenly shes hot. And they really drove it home by having her in a skin tight latex suit, that showed her boobs popping out.

@@bstims2506 Not saying it wasn’t in both parties best interests, but they could’ve just not drawn up the contract again no? I’ve never liked the DCCU anyways, and they pulled him in right after making the right choice in leaving Witcher only to let him go after his cameo in Black Adam. It’s a significant blow to the company as a whole, and that’s on James Gunn.

I love how actors and celebrities would much rather do a podcast with a real person than a talk show with a fake scripted host. It really humanizes celebrities and makes you relate to them and understand them on a level you didn’t think you could

FPJ has the right mindset. Rather than get bent out of shape at the studio for mistreating him, he did the movie then severed ties with them. Also, good on him for sticking to his guns and not paying for their raises himself. He earned his status in the industry, and while the cast absolutely all deserved pay raises, that’s entirely on the studio to pay for those raises. Like he said, the movie made the studio 3 quarters of a billion dollars, so it’s greedy and stingy of them for having the nerve to ask FPJ to take a pay cut.

Such a shame. Freddie Prinze Jr didn't deserve to be treated that way. And he's right, the other cast members deserved the same money he was getting by the second one. Freddie was the best live action Fred I've seen on screen. He got the character just right. This sounds like a situation that my favorite actress Neve Campbell is dealing with right now with Paramount and Spyglass. After leading five Scream movies since 1996 they decided they didn't want to pay her to be in Scream 6. She said no and now everybody's fingers are crossed that she gets the pay she deserves and returns for Scream 7.

I’m so GLAD Freddie said no because that’s what the studios want you to do is be agreeable and not speak up when they want you to to submit to some bull. When these studios are loaded from the hard work of the actors, the studios need to make sure they pay the actors well. I think stuff like this happened because it was the early 2000s and studios were getting away with stuff more but even now actors speak up because you deserve to if you and cast are making them rich, they can pay you very well for you’re services.

This is nothing against Freddie because he is an amazing actor and he was perfect for Scooby Doo, as was the rest of the cast, but how did Sarah Michelle Gellar make less than him? All My Children and Buffy The Vampire Slayer which were huge hits, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, Cruel Intentions, The Grudge. Surely she should have been payed the same as Freddie or more for the first film and the second, especially since she had done more than him.

Scooby Doo (2002) made $275 million at the worldwide box office off an $84 million dollar budget. It was certainly a financial success but nowhere near the three quarters of billion dollars that Freddy cites in this clip. Even in 2002 those numbers were solid but unremarkable.

@@brendansheehy8124 and that's why you're retarded. the DVD/VHS market was a huge deal from the 80s until the 10s and it was well known in the industry that a movie that did okay theatrically could make up the difference in the home video market. movies like Scooby Doo did great in theaters but they absolutely cleaned up in the home video market. there wasn't a kid in the early 00s that hadn't seen/didnt' own a copy of that movie. and none of that touches on the merchandising. I wouldn't be surprised if between theatrical and home video + merchandising the movie ultimately made $750m by the time they were negotiating the sequel.
