As an Egyptian, I must say this is woefully inadequate insight into the muslim brotherhood. I was hoping with his "ok Arabic", he would've read Egyptian sources on the history of that cult. He would know that the British were first to support them in the 1930s, and is a safe haven for them to this day. Then the U.S, Saudi, etc...and West Germany allowed the first mosque and centre to be built in the 1950's by non other than the founder's son in law. Also that they were resurrected by the Egyptian govt with US backing under Sadat. And under Mubarak they were allowed to participate in parliamentary elections and had up to 88 reps. Not including letting them takeover social safety net programs to recruit during privatization of the 80s. One can understand the chronic short sightedness of American foreign policy makers if they rely on researchers like this gentleman. To even suggest that they are not violent... despite their history of violence is alone remarkable.
