FPV Drone extrem long range - From Chamonix (1030m) to Aiguille du midi (3842m), French Alp - 5.3K

If anyone wonder about buildings and pilons on the way up and down, those are remains of old aerial cableway (1924-1951), that never reached the top. 2:28 right on horizon pilons, 4:09 single pilon on the edge, 7:36 unfinished bottom station of third section and top station of second section next to it, called Gare des Glaciers. 8:36 building in the woods is top station of first section and bottom station of second section, called La Para. 9:25 far right with pointy roof is the bottom station of first section, converted to community center. With this technology, it is possible to film whole route of all 3 sections (1 and 2 finished, 3 unfinished). Second section have still all ropes and cabins, even after 70 years.

I was on holiday in Tuscany once and all I could hear all day was helicopters flying low. We went out for a ride and discovered they were delivering massive electricity pylons. I guess they had teams on the ground ready to bolt in place and it was easier to have the pylons delivered by helicopter than carrying the sections up a mountain. Quite a thing to see.

Hey thanks! No laws broken, this area is a french decree R30B, so expect 1st of July to 31st of August, this is authorized.

Beautiful images but If you are not a professional drone pilot, it is forbidden to fly a drone outside of direct view range in France. And FPV is not direct view... Do it at your own legal risks.

@@gsbeak Agreed. Rescue helicopters fly regularly around this area, so unless you had a special permission from the authorities, I'm afraid this was completely not legal. The images are beautiful indeed but think about all the risks involved.

Planes and helicopters (Rescue, leisure, supply, and maintenance) fly everywhere in the Alps and drones/paragliders/Wingsuiters are not forbidden everywhere for this reason. Amazing. I've been on the fence for years with drones and I think the tech is finally mature enough to bring it down to a kick-ass toy price point for me to really do the research and jump in. Dans les années 90, il descendant jusqu'au dernier lacet de la route du tunnel du mont blanc, il a reculé d'un kilomètre. Celui de Taconnaz a disparu

Eh oui il recule malgré ses recharges de glaces et son gros débit depuis le haut du mont blanc. Fut un temps vers 1850 ou on stressait car il menaçait de couper la vallée en 2.
