FPV Drone Flight - Geprc Tern LR40 - DJI O3 Unit - back to the DJI O3 unit

After being dissatisfied with the performance of the Dji O4 in the Tern LR40 due to poor stabilization, the unit is now in my HGLRC Rekon 7 pro.
Unfortunately, the stabilization is even worse there. That frustrates me, of course, but that's just the way it is.
On the other hand, I find the DJI O3 unit very good and that without exception. In my opinion, the quality of the camera is excellent in normal lighting conditions and, above all, the RS stabilization works first-class. And if you want to use the gyro data, it works with Gyroflow without any problems.This video was recorded with rocksteady stabilization and was not edited afterwards. I don't think you can complain at all.I did another flight without rocksteady stabilization and subsequently stabilized the footage in Gyroflow and that also worked without any problems.
When Geprc releases a decent mount for the DJI O4 camera in the Tern LR40, I will test the whole thing again. At the moment, however, it is simply not good enough for me and, above all, the results are not consistent enough.

Wonderful flight. Sorry to hear the o4 pro wasn't working well on the lr40. I have yet to fly mine because my FC died before it even left the ground. Wondering if I might have made a mistake while converting it from the analog vtx to the O4. Other than de-soldering the analog wires from the board it seems like it should be pretty plug and play. Did you run into any issues during your conversion?

@@lifson22 Thank you very much 🙏!! What happened to you doesn't sound good at all. I simply desoldered the analog VTX and plugged in the O3 unit. Configured the whole thing in Betaflight and it was done. I don't know how this could happen to you!!? Did the FC get too hot when you configured it? Or did you touch something with the soldering iron? Check again to see if something is configured incorrectly...? Best regards and I hope you can still save something!!

@BigKahunaFPV hey yeah sounds like what I did too. I even found a firmware hex and cli dump files provided by geprc for stock o3 settings. Seemed all good, but one oddity it esc configurator couldn't read the esc's. But then after I finished the setup and took it off the bench, and checked to make sure it was all good, I didn't get the esc startup chime, and it wouldn't arm, even though I had telemetry and a video signal. I didn't have osd either. Then back to the pc, it no longer detects the usb when plugged in. No devices detected whatsoever, and again no startup chimes.

@lifson22 Check if the AIO has a boot button. It sounds like you messed something up. After connecting it, you just had to select the UART and load the OSD presetIf you come back in, check the Motor Tap to see if directional dshot is activated. Best regards

@@AndreyZzz I'm actually very happy with the DJI O4 pro except for the stabilization. I think the camera needs to be mounted very softly to achieve optimal results.

@@BigKahunaFPV Yes, a suspension with silicone! *I haven't rigidly attached my FPV camera to the frame for a long time, only with rubber double-sided tape. (four layers)

In geprc domain 4.2 03 it is isolated from the frame by thick rubber. Between the camera and the frame and thin between the screws. There are no problems with stabilization. This is a good solution.

​@@BigKahunaFPV * I did it this way! I glue the tape from the bottom and from the top to the frame. I glue the camera from the bottom with double-sided tape, and from the top the pad is glued to the frame, and not to the camera. The camera from the top to the tape through the insulating tape, it can tilt by sliding from above on the insulating tape. *Double-sided tape across the width of the camera! I don't screw anything! The sides just stand in the frame.
