Ever since I bought my qav400 I can't stop watching this video.. I have about 4 fpv flights under my belt hope I will be as great a pilot as you one day :)

Thank you Quadromax. My total flying weight is 1565g. It's pretty heavy for a frame this size. I could have shaved a lot of weight if I decided to go with the smaller recommended motors and batteries, but the extra weight seems to help it stay stable in the wind.

I really like your editing style. You are also an absolutely incredible pilot. Thanks for posting all the additional info.

Thank you. Yeah, the Naza and CC3D feel very different. I had to deaden the sticks a little to get a good handle of the CC3D. It feels very precise when you start to get a feel for it.
@MidwestRob12 жыл бұрын
Thanks Manos. I went with the 4S and larger motor for more speed and power. It has a little too much power though. I had to deaden the sticks to maintain control. It was extremely sensitive to control inputs.

That would be very hard to answer. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. I enjoy flying both of them.

Thank you. The QAV400 does a great job isolating the vibrations from the camera.

great flight with stylish landing, it seems perfect the qav400 no jello effect

Very nice maiden Rob! You are getting brave with the proximity flying! Closer and faster! Looks awesome!

I wish I had a good answer for you. My range can vary depending on a lot of factors. The furthest I've tested it was at a range of about 3/4 mile but I've seen videos on KZbin that show people reaching over 1 mile with the same transmitter. I've read that Futaba radios are excellent, but I have no experience with them to make a comparison to mine. My Hitec radio has served me very well and I have no regrets owning it.

Great video Rob. My favorite part was when you zipped under the awning of the snack shack. Cool!
@MidwestRob12 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I figured it had something to do with weight distribution. I just need to figure out how to proportion the settings to make the pitch feel more like the roll.
@MidwestRob12 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was looking forward to trying out a CC3D myself. I think the CC3D feels a little crisper. I just wish it had a RTH function like the Naza does. I'm too nervous to fly it out very far.
@labcopilot12 жыл бұрын
Great flight, Rob! I have been looking forward to seeing a vid of you behind the sticks with an OpenPilot flight controller and this one didn't disappoint. I've only had a couple of flights with my new QAV500 w/CC3D and would agree with you that it's quite different than the Naza (in a good way once you get the hang of it).

awesome, I didn't even know that park existed. i'll definitely check it out. I'm excited to get into FPV (once our two feet of snow melts)

It usually takes a few hours for me to edit a video. I've been using Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 for my last couple of videos. Before that I was just using Windows Movie Maker.

EXCELLENT!! I'll be watching this again before the night is gone... :) Pitch feels loose due to the inertia in the pitch axis, the distribution of mass fore and aft... I'm sure you'll get it tuned :)

Very nice flying Rob :) I have only had 2 goes with FPV + CC3D so far & it definitely feels different compared with FPV + NAZA! Every time I come off the pitch stick it rocks backwards & I see the sky & panic! hehe. Great video!

That's really nice Rob! Well done!! I added this video to the QAV400 YT Playlist.

Very nice video. I'm seriously thinking to take CC3D, after my Tbs Naza and KK2 f450. Just curious about CC3D and Naze32 comparison....Also Quav400 is amazing but his spare are expensive so I'm evaluating what frame has right ratio... Max

Holy balls, I live in Gardner. Just ordered a QAV500 and supporting hardware. Good to know I can go fly it near the highschool. (guessing that's Gardner Edgerton--I live on the south side of town so I've never ventured over towards the high school--I assume it's west side of town) Weird coincidence. Awesome vid! I'm sure I'll run into you at some point.

I would be thrilled if I can develop half the skill you have ;) ..can you tell me what range are you getting with Hitec Aurora 9? I ordered a qav400 but am not sure which RC tx to get? I would like to get about 1-2km range. I thought of Futaba 14sg but am not sure.

I've heard that iMovie is ok for simple editing, but isn't that great when trying to do certain things. I have found that Windows Movie Maker is really bad and also a pain to use. BTW, I don't use image stabilization in my videos.
