FPV Skiing GoPro Action Footage! Chimera 7 FPV Cinematic Long-Range Drone in Norway Back Country!

A buddy of mine called and said he was going to climb and ski Trolltinden Mountain, unfortunately I had broken the RX antenna a couple days earlier, but didn't want to miss the opportunity. Off Piste skiing they call it in Europe or Back Country skiing in the USA.
Despite the constant signal issues, RX Loss warnings, and Failsafes we got some awesome footage! I have since replaced the antenna, and I'm ready for round two! Not quite Red Bull yet, but still a lot of fun!

@@flipfpv4539 Absolutely, so long story… at first I thought the Bardpole Crossfire antenna was damaged due to a recent crash… but today I discovered the “awkward truth”. After that crash I randomly switched my VTX antenna (for some testing I’m doing) to a TrueRC Long Singularity and then the Crossfire issues started. However I assumed it was related to the Bardpole which was bent badly in the crash… today however I installed a new Bardpole, and had the same RXLoss issues! So I decided to switch the VTX antenna back to my “makeshift” Lollipop 3 Stubby on a long Coax and voila! Solid crossfire signal out to 7km. So so weird, all I can think is the length of the Long Singularity next to the Bardpole was causing signal interference. I’ll research further, and maybe even discuss it with Hugo over a TrueRC. But stay tuned but I’ll share my findings in a future video.

Thanks for spurring me on! It's been sitting half built. I come into quads from planes but I can't pack them on my snowmobile or up a mountain and they're not great for chasing skiers or snowmobiles.

@@jimross898 yup I also came from planes and quads are much easier for most things. Once you’re past the initial learning curve. Having a cool subject really makes the video so much more interesting.

This was shot with a GoPro 8, 2.7k 60fps, Wide angle, ND8, and Auto Shutter actually.. didn’t want to risk exposure issues as I only had once take. I debated what settings to use for while…
