I literally just received mine 10 minutes ago after waiting 2ish weeks. I’m new to drones and am building my first one (SpeedyBee Master 5), but I showed my wife this Pavo Nightfire and told her I thought it looked like a cool little drone with the crazy cool LEDs, so she ended up buying it for me for my birthday. She ordered it the day it was released and only paid $87 for it…. I don’t know a whole lot about these little whoop quads yet, but I don’t think you could buy a better quad anywhere for $87 lol….now I just need to find a decent vtx system to put in it….but for me as a newbie, gimmicky or not, I think the lights are super cool 👍
@GiantAntCowboy11 күн бұрын
@@JoeyscustomRC yea, $87 is a steel for this quad. You couldn’t build it for that price. The DJI O3 is the most common VTX/Camera for this quad, but it depends which system/goggles you have or will get. It’s a great cinewhoop, I recommend lowering the rates a bit, check out my full review for more thoughts about that. You’ll have fun with it for sure, the LEDs definitely look amazing!

I think they're a gimmick but they're a fun gimmick. I bought one of these quads on Black Friday. I should have it tomorrow. I put similar LEDs on a 3.5" build and had a lot of fun but the control board (several boards 🙄) died and they stopped working. I finally just removed them. I mean, you can't see them anyway unless you're flying line of sight. I plan to install them on the new Nightfire. Let's hope they are higher quality than the last ones I tried.🤞 I dig your channel. Happy flying amigo, and merry Christmas. 🎅 👍

@@Sonic_Ox yea, that’s basically the conclusion of my review. LEDs are great when searching for a quad, maybe when flying with friends, and this “light painting” has potential, but ultimately the value added is pretty minimal. I was finally testing this SuperG TX the other day, and even at 250mw with the stock antennas there was significant "disruption" in my goggles - walksnail, this time. The problem completely resolved itself when I attached two Radiomaster T-antennas (center-fed dipoles). Cheers -

What flight mode do you use in the forest and elsewhere?
@ugpfpv3612 ай бұрын
I would guess it's acro as it's just easier to fly once you get the hang of it, I myself haven't flown anything else after the first week of learning to fly 7 years ago. If you're still flying any of the self level modes, do yourself a favor and get off them as soon as possible, it may not seem like it when starting out but acro is actually easier to fly with more control.
@GiantAntCowboy2 ай бұрын
@@JakeBullit123 I fly both Acro & Angle modes depending on what I’m doing. But honestly with this tiny quad i actually love Angle Mode; and I’ve been flying quads in Acro for over 5 years. This is especially true when flying in thick forest because there’s so many branches and this tiny quad easily gets knocked around or stuck in them. In Acro it’s very easy to over-correct when hitting a surprise branch which then crashes you into another branch… in Angle mode regaining control is much easier, and keeps you flying. I’ve heard there’s a “Crash Recovery” mode that helps in Acro, but I’ve never tried it. In more open spaces I definitely prefer Acro mode though, just gives smoother control. Hope that’s helpful.
