@@Shauny_D im looking forward to this, any chance you will talk about the proxy in detail? i hear you can edit 4k at a lower res so it doesnt slow down the computer..
@Shauny_D5 ай бұрын
@@pokematteus2514 in the playback tab at the top you can change to 1/2 or 1/4 resolution playback. Some times helps. For 4k though I will edits with the timeline set to 1080 or even 720 which will be faster playback and then when I'm finished with the edit I'll switch timeline settings to 4k and render. 3rd option is to actually generate proxies. Select all the clips right click and say generate proxy media and then in top right of video window put the lityle drop down on prefer proxies

will add to the list of videos. Currently using Davinci for my editing, but its too much for my 9 year old PC..... always forget about inspector...

@@Mupshot if you're on an old computer make your timeline first then right click on it and go to timeline settings and uncheck the "use project settings " box and change your timeline resolution to 720 x 480 . Edit with that setting and your PC will only have to play back that low resolution. Then when you're ready to export change it back to 1920x1080 before you render. Should be a whole lot better. Maybe not enough still but that is your best chance.

@@Shauny_D great point. I get a terrible stutter currently, so I tend to try to use my kids PC when I can. he uses Adobe Premier, but Im poor and cheap, and spend all my $ on sending his @$$ to school
