Flight Review of Sonic Model F1 Racing Wing

I got to Fly a Pack through the Sonic Model F1 Racing Wing. This aircrafts flies incredibly fast and is super stable and responsive. This wing should be showing up at wing races soon.

I like it. but I like your rc remote more. in the online store they show you that it comes with a smaller black controller. tell me the wine plane with that control and you bought it separately?

Johnny, do you think the added weight of the FPV gear will have any affect on flight characteristics? I realize it’s very little weight, but that’s not the biggest wing area either. Just curious... Thx 😎

Tom Muhleman, Jr. Actually it will probably fly a bit more stable. I have 1/2 oz of lead in the nose to get it to CG. So the FPV gear will be good to have.

Great plane & flying but....why the heck would you fly with you antenna pointed towards the model ?!

Its a Taranis, even with the antenna pointed towards the model you likely have a full km of range.

So what if it is a Taranis. Doesn’t have diversity and pointing the antenna at the plane just shows that the pilot doesn’t know shit about R/C.

Depends on what motor you go with. If you go with the massive heavy 2216 motor the PNP version has you will defo struggle to acheive CG, it also would be underpowered with only 2000kV.. . If you went with something between 2206 - 2307 weight (2500-2700kV) it would probably balance out CG wise... if you located the ESC optimumly (ie; far forward) and it would also depend on if you were using fpv gear or not, if you were that would really help by allowing you better placement options for acheiving CG. 1000mah and 3s is definately on the low end though. Yes It flies best light weight but also better at higher speeds so I think your flight times would probably only be around 3m.. give or take. If you plan on building a lightweight version let me know and I'll try and offer further advice.. Mine has a 2307 2700kV, lightweight Racerstar quad esc, Matek f411 Wing FC/INAV, GPS, a Micro eagle FPV cam and a 800mW VTX and I use 1300mAh 4s. I'm planning on a build a lighter non FC/INAV version so we might be able to swap notes..
