My grandpa died in 1980 at age 88, embracing us all at his deathbed. He asked us not to mourn his death but celebrate his life. From that day I believe in the JOY of true Christian death. And I live for that day when My God will call me Home to enjoy eternity with HIM in Heaven.

we have a saying in Afrikaans (my home language) which goes: "Die waarheid maak seer". Roughly translated this means that the truth hurts. Hearing the truth this loud and clear made a lot of things so preciously clear to me this morning. Yes, it is hard to hear that your secret sins, your actions, your words, even your body language can either hurt or raise someone up to greater heights with God. But, overall, its good to hear that I MATTER. No matter what my skills are, or the lack thereof, I MATTER to God in His infinite plan for us. I matter.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but has eternal life. Jesus said that wide is the gate and broad is the path that leads to destruction but narrow is the path and difficult is the way that leads to eternal life and few find it. Mmm. Such a big world and many have lived but Jesus said few find eternal life. I will tell you why. It is because so many people are practicing religion instead of actually acknowledging their sin before God and truly believing in Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins. So many people profess faith in Jesus Christ but yet they are still trying to work for salvation which God says is a free gift and that you cannot earn it.

Sir Wolfenstein Reveli maybe they’re just trying to serve God. So should we stop doing things for the lord? We do believe in Jesus. We believe in Jesus so much we eat him.

Amare Adonai Brother if you were being honest do you really even know for sure if you died you will go to heaven? Thank you for replying by the way. You see I know I am saved and born again because I had an actual encounter with Gods spirit and God changed me. God did that because of my belief in Jesus Christ. Jesus gave an example of a tax collector and a Pharisee in Luke 18:9. The problem with religion is it deceived people into thinking that God is happy with people because of their works. They are like the Pharisees in this parable mentioned in Luke. They have never apart from what a priest told them in church come to an understanding of God and the Bible. Scripture is taken out of context and people have a deep religion but they actually have no real relationship with God because they try to get to God via their religion. You have not eaten Jesus. Let’s get real. You wouldn’t even know what that means had the priest not told you what that meant. Catholics are very zealous for God on the outside, but deep inside if they admitted it they don’t feel close to God or they feel accepted by God because of their striving to do good when Jesus said none are good and Jesus said all your religious works and following of traditions won’t save you. Jesus said unless you are perfect you are not getting into heaven. It’s like a man who lies his whole life, and steals, or lusts, or fornicates, or covets, or even worse has pride in himself or is self righteous and then thinks the God of heaven and earth is happy that people think they can or have done all these things at some point in their life and they are good enough to get to heaven because they say a few hell marries and go through their religious practices. Catholics do this because they follow the blind teachers of the Catholic religion. I am sorry my friend but they will all be going to hell and not because they are not zealous for God. It’s because they do not really understand or even know God and their pride keeps them from being like the tax collector in the parable I mentioned in Luke. False humility will not save you. Catholics think they are good people because of their religion. There is none that are good and unless one is justified by God himself all Catholics that have not been shown the truth by God himself and truly repented and truly believed in the Son of God will all go to hell. The Apostle Paul was zealous for God to was he not. Jesus told all of the Pharisees and Scribes that unless they repented they would all perish and the Jews were very zealous in their beliefs even more so than the Catholics.

Sir Wolfenstein Reveli lets get real you don’t know if you’re going to heaven you only think that because your pastor told you so... The Pharisees were hypocritical and that’s why Jesus spoke out against them. Has nothing to do with works and the religious stuff you went on about. It’s about walking the walk , practicing what you preach , this is why Jesus spoke out against the Pharisees.
@Sidney051
@Sidney051 4 жыл бұрын
Amare Adonai Brother you completely missed my point. My point was this. Let me try to clarify. The Pharisees were very self righteous because of who they were and the practices they followed but in there heart they did not really know God or they would not have crucified Jesus. Let me ask you this and try not to be defensive. Try to be humble for a second. I will try to be humble as well so that we can have a conversation. Do you know for a fact that you are going to heaven? I want you to answer that question humbly.
@deusvult9372
@deusvult9372 4 жыл бұрын
Sir Wolfenstein Reveli no .. Jesus spoke out against the Pharisees because they weren’t living out what they preached. They were judging the common man yet they were doing the same sins. Of course no one can be sure if they go to heaven or if heaven is even a different place. An reading from scripture only talks about the day of resurrection. So it seems like you rest or sleep until that day unfolds.. This typical tactic that Protestant Christians use, they say they know they go to heaven. But that’s just a claim. If they honestly read scripture they would know they gotta repent and live according to god.

I agree with everything he said until he starts talking about how a person becomes saved (born again) (reconciled to God) (forgiven of all your sins). Salvation comes by faith only. Catholics teach that if you live a good life you go to heaven. If you follow the Catholic dogma and rules you are going to heaven. Jesus said that no one is good but God. Jesus said you have to be perfect to go to heaven. The Bible says that if you have ever sinned even once you will be judged by God and sent to hell. Trying to erase away all your sins by doing good is opposite of what Jesus said. It’s like trying to tell a judge don’t punish me for my crime because I have done all these other things that were good. If God judges you according to what you have done you will be found guilty according to Gods standard of perfection. Hell is not going to be boring. Hell is going to be torment forever. Only the ones that own their sin and guilt and bring it to God by faith and ask him for forgiveness and by faith believe their sins are forgiven because of what Jesus has done for us and not because what we have done will truly have their sins forgiven. If you trust false teachings that tell you if you follow these rules you get to go to heaven is a lie. You must first believe in Jesus as lord first before you can do anything that pleases God. Jesus said the flesh profits nothing but the spirit gives birth to spirit. You have to be born again first and that comes by faith in Jesus Christ. It’s believing the truth of Jesus Christ that gives you eternal life. Good deeds are great but they will not profit you anything before God because your righteousness is a filthy rag before God as was prophesied in Izaiah. Jesus said no one is good but God. Jesus said many people will say to me on the day of judgment Lord Lord did we not prophesy in your name and cast out demons in your name and do great and mighty works in your name.

As Catholics we believe that our faith is like a muscle, and in order to make it stronger, we have to excercise it with good works But any catholic would agree however that works isn't what is going to get you into heaven

@Sidney051
@Sidney051 3 жыл бұрын
stangerling Yes but the Bible says if a man works then he will get what is owed to him which is his wage and the Bible says the wages of our sin is death. The Bible makes is very clear that we are not saved by works but by faith. The same James that you quoted saying faith without works is dead is the same James that said if you keep the whole law but yet break one of Gods laws then you are guilty as though you had broken all of them so what good will works profit you when God is going to judge you according to his perfect law and you are found guilty. Your wage will be eternal damnation and the works can not erase your sins. This is why justification is given to the one who believes the promise and if one believes the promise if his faith is genuine then the Holy Spirit gives that person eternal life through the power of the Holy Spirit. If one has received the Holy Spirit then that that same man walks according to the spirit and no longer continues to practice sin. It doesn’t mean you become completely sinless. It just means your new heart that was given to you desires to please God and obey the Holy Spirit.

@@Sidney051 nowhere in the bible does it say faith "alone" Marin Luther added the word "alone" in fact James 2:24 says:"You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone." work without faith is dead. and faith without works does nothing. why read the bible? why go to church? why clothe the naked and feed the hungry? the point is not to boast in the works, but to live in faith and live fruitfully through the works of it.
