Fracture Modifier | #4 Smoke/Dust/Debris

Learn how to generate smoke/dust/debris using the Fracture Modifier and the fracture-helper-addon.
This tutorial shows how easy it is. Where to find settings. And how to avoid problems with cache, rendering and texturing.
Maybe there are some little mistakes i did while recording. So if you drive into any problems please let me know.

Thank you for the time you put into these tutorials. Some feedback that I hope is constructive for you: even at full screen on my 34" 21:9 monitor I cannot make out the text on your screen-capture. First there is a large black border around the entire video, so it is not even "full screen" and, more importantly, your resolution is so high that almost no text is legible. Trying to follow your mouse-clicks is almost impossible. May I suggest decreasing your resolution and simplifying your screen layout for screen captures (we don't need a huge view port as much as seeing your nodes or settings clearly, for example). Do you know if and when a FM 2.8 will be available? I really like it so it would be great to see it working on 2.80. I've tested a unofficial build on graphicall but it doesn't work very well for me. Last question: why this modifier it needs to be built in the blender package instead to be a simple add-on as many others? Thank you for your good tutorials and all the blenderphysics developers. I hope to see a 2.8 version soon. 😊

No matter how many times I try, I can never get any smoke to show up. I didn't use debris, and as I understand this is not a requirement for smoke. As I understand the workflow it is like this: select the fracture object at the point in time where you want smoke to start, press Inner Smoke, and adjust the domain if necessary. That's all, right?

Aaaand 5 seconds later of course I figured it out. I had missed the step where you click on Create brush for the other object. 🙄 Thanks for the tutorial!

That solved the issue I was having. I had the fracture too high in the list and my mesh always looked messed up. BTW, are you guys going to adapt the Fracture Modifier and Fracture Helper to work in 2.8?

I'm learning a lot from you guys! Thanks for the explanations... There is one thing that is killing me now: I can't use my GPU in the built available. I have a GTX 2070 and The built seems to be late on that respect... Do you have any suggestions on how I can solve that to enable my GPU?
