Merry Christmas guys! Our intention with this piece was to start a conversation that needs to be heard. Loving the comments so far. Major love to our writer and director Bunmi Ajakaiye who wrote this in four days with me on her heel, lol. To the amazing actor Eku and Karibi thank you. Hmmm, I'm sorry but I don't see the average Nigerian man agreeing to stay with a woman incapable of having children especially if there was proof that he could father children. I had the conversation when I was engaged, even though I'd been pregnant before. Many things can still happen; chromosome incompatibility, genetic failures, inhospitable womb etc, so it's a very important conversation to have. It opened up how we felt towards adoption and helped us truly see how we would deal with the situation. This is why marriage should only be done by adults and not youngsters pushed into it by their parents or religious environment or hormones. I honestly don't think anyone under 25 should be getting married, considering the brain isn't fully developed until then. Which is why considering anyone under 25 an adult is a scientific joke and blunder! Marriage needs a developed brain and even with that, it's still a struggle!
@mungalowcrooningswithabian7831
@mungalowcrooningswithabian7831 4 жыл бұрын
@@chijioke4997 but who would dishonesty help? Anyone going into such a conversation needs to understand that the truth would be best and its their time to gauge the true intent of their intended and see if the possibilities are adaptable to them. If you can't be honest in such discussions then I don't see that marriage working, at least not working as well as it could.

Yo, the entire cast and crew of this drama and Ndani TV deserves accolades. I'm so proud of the direction the entertainment industry is moving toward. I'm so over watching Nigerian dramas with only "moral lesson" of dos and don't. its high time we start addressing societal and political issues in the country. The issue of male infertility and the idea of what it means "to be a man" is a conversation well all should be having. Its time for the narratives to change.

I hope this short film encourages a couple who may be in this same position. Understand that where there is LOVE there is GOD because He is Love. I have heard of couples who doctors have told are infertile but then had children. Those who are blessed to have a spouse, hold on and let the love from God flow through your bond. May God bless the creator of this film - it must have come from a place of understanding.

I have to applaud the entire team who put this film together. This narrative is real for many couples, yet infertility is mostly showcased on media as "the woman's fault". This piece is a step in the right direction towards breaking that unhealthy and untrue stereotype. I also love another theme of the film, that it's okay for men to be vulnerable. Even after they had that huge argument and he said things that hurt her deeply, she saw him in that vulnerable state on the floor and she reached out. That's big. That's love. That's what it means to make a decision to love and treat that person with a kind and patient heart. "If I was the one with the issue, would you stay?" Damn, now that was a question. What the man was expecting from her, would he be able to do the same if the table were turned? This film right here, is premium content.

This is so good. I think we have to be very intentional in the upbringing of our male children. Many of us were brought up never to accept defeat, always have the final say or to be the right one always and this is affecting a lot of men. Let's make the male child know that he could also be the one down at a point and he needs support or help just like the way he would want to help a female. Thumbs up for this

The society has been stereotyped to think that women are the problems when it comes to couple inability to become pregnan. The men can't and won't be the problem, nevertheless all thanks to science for helping out with tests and results. So, what happens when the man is the problem of infertility in the family, should they marry another man for her to get her pregnant?

It's crazy how many men are natural gaslighters especially when they are the problem. The wife really made serious points but reverted back to the norm when the mom appeared. It was really nice to see the hubby become truly the man for her and refuse to let her take on the blame.

Women through the years have had this pressure so much on them that it has become the norm to assume a woman infertile once there is a delay in been pregnant especially in marriages where the man believes he has been a father. We should learn to let couples sort themselves. Womb watchers, hear me ....You are not God. Men, that moment of vulnerability may just be all you need to live happily ever after. Women, it's not payback time 🤭. Live and Let Live. Many thanks to Ndani TV, Abimbola Craig and team.

Y'all can trust Abimbola Craig to bring quality content, every scene and emotion was deliberate and well executed. Surprisingly, its my first time seeing Eku Edewor in a movie but I'm about to search for any other movie she's been in, She embodies poise, maturity but also that meticulous way of owning a character. This narrative NEEDS to be told more often in nollywood as its a way of helping to deal with the toxic masculinity that plagues a lot of African cultures.

I remember when I first began to understand that the definition of equality in a marriage is a deeply personal thing, watching this, I am more convinced that the terms of engagement in a marriage must remain jointly personal. Not, “what will my family say?”, “what will people say”. It is hurtful and humiliating to be unable to access something you’re sure you deserve and on top of that, capable of having, as we see in Teni’s case. Staying in that kind of marriage must be for yourself and yourself only, will I sleep well at night? If the table were TURNED, will being with me be his resolve? Will he keep me and rear children with other people? Damn, this is so hard. I couldn’t do this if I wasn’t mad sure he would do the same for me. There are too many mediocre things in life, marriage shouldn’t be one them. Thank you Ndani for this beautiful piece of work. I hope it starts all the important conversations that we need to have. Salam!

This video may have been thirty minutes but it carried a lot of lesson and I must admit it was worth every time and mb. Some couples fail to discuss their thoughts and ideas on having kids and what other options they can have. Others put the blame on the woman forgetting that the problem might also be from the man. At the end of the day, some couple don't even make it past their first anniversary, others rise above it and make the most out of it.

Lovely Film. Each time I find a fractured or wounded boy/man I have questioned the child girl programs and always lobbied that we must have boy child programs running concurrently as girl child programs continue. This boys to men clubs should be initiated across the continent to have sexuality issues discussed freely so that we all are able to cope when faced with life issues.

Even religion perpetuates this mindset. How many prayer meetings about infertility have men praying. You will see women wailing amd weeping while the man has peace of mind thinking the issue is the woman. I think women also assume the place of blame far too easily amd what the portrayed was what should be done. Check yourself first and know confidently of your own status and fertility.

I work with patients who undergo the procedure and medical problem mentioned here and they've done a great job with portraying the doctor's meeting. Makes a nice change as doctors/nurses in Nigerian films are usually cringe-worthy with the ridiculous dialogue. The mother-in-law is the reason why most African men are the way they are; she was so ready to blame the wife and go and get some stranger outside her son's marriage to bring for him to impregnate to produce a child. Just insane. Kudos to Abimbola Craig on a wonderful set-piece. Great storyline with a stellar cast.

Just because women possess the vessels to grow and birth children does not make us the only party responsible for or equipped to handle fertility issues be that wanted/unwanted pregnancy, infertility, contraception etc. IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO! And let's not forget the gender bias/pressure to have boys in our culture that seems to always be put on the women even though science has proven otherwise. It's so important to have projects like this to get important conversations going and to educate people. Another incredible and well-executed project from the Ndani team! *five stars*

The little ways by which our society turns men into unemotional beings especially in marriage goes unnoticed. Even in this generation. It's time we start making pointers to it so that parents that did not previously know now know. I was with a family friend a while back. Her son fell while playing and she said 'don't cry, you are not a girl'. I was shocked and I asked her the reason for her statement. She just laughed it off. Imagine the child growing up with such perception that tears is for ladies

I typically don't comment in public opinion polls but, great job Ms Craig and Ndani Tv. My comments 1. Couples(intending) MUST address this issue before tying the knot. While no one desires it, it is a serious fact of life that this happens even in the face of no obvious medical mitigating circumstances. If you can afford it get tested prenup and if clear still know that life happens. Have a game plan and BE HONEST about it. I love his honesty about not wanting to adopt but the better time to air it would have been prenup. 2. Parents, please back off! Its the couple's life and decision. Unless you can afford multiple IVFs AND they ask for your help, kindly refrain from silly suggestions and innuendos. Please and thank you! Great job guys, you added relish to my boxing day!!

An absolutely beautiful and potent story that speaks to the heart. I really loved it when she contemplated leaving... and she said something like "Am I ready to live the rest of my life without children?". These are the conversations we should be having with each other. Not the empty frivolous talk we circle around constantly. Thank you for this film. A work of heart this is. I really do love happy endings but it would have been great to show how they handled the reality of no children or if they chose to separate or maybe if she convinced him to adopt. I'm getting carried away.. I know..That's how much I love this film... Overall, 10/10 for this film...
