Dior Tobacolor is hands down my favorite tobacco scent. Bright green tobacco with a sweet honey base. I've yet to smell Naxos but it sounds similar given your discription.

Tell them the whole story Chris, the Opus XIV Tobacco Royale is not just another fragrance, it's also the most unique and not easily digested by many. It's a statement maker and quite in your face, the comparison to Interlude is more than fair. Extremely complex scent as well...late drydown smells like an expensive burnt cigar. You know, in the past when you smelled someone that had and expensive powerful fragrance on, but also smelled like good quality burnt tobacco...it's the perfect combo of both. It also has a certain freshness to it (besides that creaminess), if it would not have it...you would find it very heavy. Imo...it's hard to find anything similar, and if you want something really special...that is all you need. When the cold hits this one is...nuclear. Thanks for the list, I'll try Zaharoff's Tabac next, just to have something at the opposite pole 😎

I don't own many tobacco frags but I've tried some. Naxos made my eyes wide open the first time I smelled it. Un Air De Apogee is the second one I own, which I bought right after I tried it on. They're definitely smell divine.

BANGER lineup, Chris! I'm excited about Royal Tobacco in the coming months as well. Cecil Zarokian is asserting herself as my favorite perfumer and among the rare elite today in general. If you have tried Precious Liquids Tobacco Royal (which preceeded Amouage Royal Tobacco) I could not recommend it more highly!

Nice! Got Naxos and Tobacco Oud, they are true masterpieces. I had Spicebomb Extreme but it felt too juvenile and cute. :) One of my latest tobacco(ish) frags is Creed Tabarome Millesime. Its a lovely citrus with a slight tobacco base. A year round fragrance.

Aramis Tobacco Reserve is a really classy dry tobacco smell. It's also a little sweet and herbal which makes it a mature scent to me. Discontinued sadly.

I never really thought I'd like tobacco as a note either, but it can be so smooth and not like an ash tray at all which is what I thought it might be like! I can definitely recommend Volutes (EDP) by Diptyque. Beautiful, dry, hay-like tobacco with iris. 😍

Just got my first PP purchase last night. Used your link and got my new customer 10% off Love the A*men. But most importantly their Bvlgari Black is spot on. The original one that looks like a tire. Sprayed the Original on my left arm PP on my right. 3 sprays on the exact same spots. The scent is like 97% exact. If I wasnt comparing them head to head I would not be able to tell the difference. I grew up on Bvlgari Black so glad to see others can check it out. The EDT PP spray is a little weaker than the original. About 5 hours later now and original has a skin scent still, PP is pretty much gone but was still exact for sure. I'll be getting an Extrait version in my next order to compare again. If you like BB then definitely get an extrait version and you will see what I mean. Original 75ml ebay = $180 for me. PP version Extrait 60ml = $37

Love tobacco fragrances. Xerjoff Naxos and Argos Triumph of Bacchus have to be my joint number ones but a number of others come close including Mugler Pure Havanne, Amouage Boundless, TF Tobacco Vanille, PdM Herod, Zaharoff Signature Tabac, Ormonde Jayne Tobacco Intensivo and its flanker Verano. A fantastic cheapie is Reyane Tradition Insurrection II Wild Cologne.

Royal Tobacco reminds me heavily of a Discontinued Tom ford that was very popular in fragcom called Plum Japonis because of the use of the plum note or Prunol as the official synthetic note listed.

A different, fresher take on tobacco is Ormonde Jayne Montobacco Intensivo. I think you would really like it and appreciate it. It smells royal and so wearable.

I thought I'd see a surprise mention of Hafez 1984. Honestly, among all tobacco fragrances, my mind first goes to Hafez 1984. How they go that great of a scent for that price I'll never know. It's a gem indeed.

Chris, I have to ask if you have ever heard about the Filthy Rich brand? I tested either Signature 1 or Signature II and was completely blown away. If you can use one of your connections, you need to get your hands on them and review them. They will be right up your alley…guaranteed. 👍

Helllo Chris....it is a been a while i haven't participated Is the Zaharoff you chose in the same style of Shergui or Aramis tobacco reserve or the king of tobacco Dior Tobacolor?... I think these are the leafy super masculine dry tobacco style type (shergui less masculine) This is the real tobacco perfume style for me which i like the most and i am only wondering why none was mentioned that is why i am asking if Zaharoff is in the same style

I'm on my third bottle of TF TV, I have some vanille fatale and tobacco oud but prefer TV. I have a bottle of oud wood but just don't like it as much as the other 3. I know that's probably heresy. I often take a blind punt on cheapos too, I really like the two charuto ones, despite being clones. I am debating some jazz club and currently working through SB extreme.

In amouage tobacco Royal I don't seem to get the tobacco, but I think it shows after 10 hours. Unless I'm going crazy. Then maybe I'm thinking, that the opening is an artists impression of tobacco? I dunno, what you think? But yeah it is beast mode!

I purchased Hafez 1984 about 3 years ago not knowing anything about it and not knowing it was an inspiration of Naxos. Goddamn! I fell in love with it that I did some research and I had to buy Naxos just because I wanted to have the real thing. IMO, Naxos is a master piece and just a beautiful fragrance. I own Tabac Rose, Spice Bomb Extreme, Herod, Naxos, Tobacco Vanille, Man in Black and Side Effect.

1984 is a stunner! It’s an original though and not an inspiration of another fragrance. 1981x is the Alexandria inspiration of Naxos.

Received a sample of Le Labo Tabac 28 today. It's good, but not worth the asking price imo, and I'd say that CH Mystery Tobacco is a better blended, more interesting fragrance.

Completely agree. I got the 15ml of Tabac 28 last year and need some more, but I looked at the prices for the City Exclusives this year and they have totally lost their minds. $510 for 100ml!?! I don't think so. I ordered a decant of CH Mystery Tobacco and I'm really impressed. They are similar, though definitely different. I'd say the Le Labo is sleeker and more modern but the CH is deeper, darker and more sophisticated. Unfortunately, the CH seems a little difficult to get. I live in NYC and I think I am going to have to order it from Herrod's.

Recently tried Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and wasn't really a fan. I like the suggestion of the tobacco scent, but I feel like it went overboard and made me smell like I was JRR Tolkien or something. Maybe just not a tobacco scent guy, I guess.
