The fram ultra synthetic actually has a better filter media. The purolator and the fram orange can has cellulose media whereas the ultra synthetic has a dual layer synthetic media. The cellulose media filters 99% and 30 microns and the ultra synthetic dual layer media filters 99% at 20 microns (smaller particulates). The metal mesh also helps keep structural integrity. The ultra synthetic is actually a high quality filter.

I couldn’t agree more. 99% @ 20 microns is fantastic efficiency. Fram Ultra is hard to beat.

You should open the OEM Honda or Subaru oil filters. They are the Fram filters which tells you one thing they work.

The OEM Honda oil filter for my motorcycle is hilariously superior and way out the league of any other filters I've opened. imo STP makes the best oil filter of all the ones that I have opened (video soon)

It’s not the filter that’s the problem. I’ve used Fram Filters on my Nissan Versa and the car ran smoothly. I would change the oil and filter every 5000 miles. As long as you change the oil and filter every 5k miles you should be able to use any oil filter

I put a FRAM orange filter on my 2004 Dodge Ram Hemi (should have kept the truck...) and it knocked like hell. I went back to the Mopar filter very quickly. do NOT use FRAM!

That means your oil pressure is Very low , and there's some kind of flow restriction .

I dont care what any of these comments say. Ive also been building high HP vehicles for years and I wont touch one of these pieces of junk. I dont care if its ultra synthetic or not. If you only just do a driveway oil change on your wifes Honda go for it. Not in my rigs, not worth the risk. Stick with a Wix or a Purolator if possible.

I wouldn't put a Fram filter on a lawn mower... When I worked at a parts house, we purposefully had on display multiple cut aways showing different tiers of quality/ cost. 9 /10 times when I showed the Fram cutaway compared to ANY other brand, customers would opt for the higher quality filter ( airing on the side of caution) for themselves, considering that a lot of the time it means the difference of only 3-5 dollars in cost. I’ve been using Fram since 1988. I’ve never had any issues with the filters. I’m in Minnesota-North Dakota area. Not one problem. Used the orange PH Fram on my Kawasaki 17 V twin engine on my 20+ year John Deere. No problems. They’re built great. If they were as bad as people say they wouldn’t be sold everywhere.

I was at Advance Auto a week ago getting a oil filter and oil from my car and he tried to sell me a Fram oil filter. I said no I don't want that junk give me a Purolator. He looked at me like I was crazy. I said they're junk he says no they're not anymore. I said they're still junk always will be.

ACDelco E Core filters are junk too. Honestly I only use Wix or Napa Gold.

Wow, fram used to be good quality.. I use their filters for my gold wing amd those arnt like this., but you cant hide it on a cartridge type filter.

thanks, I'm looking for filters for my motorcycle and Fram and K&N seem to be the only available options (It's a CFmoto so they're brand new to the US). I wanted to avoid K&N sense I don't want a high flow filter. I was worried about Fram but the pictures show it with metal end caps and I figured the same, they can't hide it on the bare cartridge filters.
