This is one of the most helpful videos on kanjira I have seen for people not so familiar with the instrument. There are a lot of useful tips, clearly explained, in a short time. I'll be referring to it often. Thank you.

Can anyone explain the reason for having the right thumb positioned over the head when playing fast "tek"s? I didn't do that when I started playing kanjira, and now when I try to play with my thumb over the head it locks my whole hand and arm up to the point that I can barely play anything.

Can u tone it to low bass and make sounds like the traditional kanjira? Better acoustic equipment could help us hear the gumki sound

@Khalilullah Yeah maybe Scott is not the best rep for kanjira, but this video is slow and has explanation. If one lives in the USA like me for instance, the pros are far away or super far away. I personally am without the money right now to got to school or travel. A video like this which is free besides my cost for internet service is a big help. A majority of the videos on here about kanjira are for show imo and not educational. I know that there are also educational dvd's about kanjira.
