@@zoltanschweifer4304 this is for games that support dx12 and dlss Frame generation natively so you can toggle the fg in-game settings and won't have any UI flickering. If they game doesn't support dlss frame generation natively then that's when it will have UI flickering. Sometimes that can be fixed with the optiscaler overlay but not always. It's currently only available for dlss enabler mod 3.0.3-trunk which isn't the main and stable build this plugin uses. Maybe later when it gets moves to main/stable the plugin will install that version.

@@xt1988 yes lossless scaling is a generic upscaler/framegen. This is a frontend plugin for a mod that requires the game to support dx12 and dlss2/dlss3 natively.

Well, this is basically just DLSS/FSR3 mod installer. I don't know if the installation on linux is hard or someting, so someone built an installer for that, but in windows it's as simple as copy paste some files.

Thank you so much for this information. With this KZbin video and another one that I looked at, I was able to install everything and have everything running. It literally gave New Life to my steam deck OLED. It extended it quite a bit and I'm able to play some of these games that I wanted to play but I didn't wanted to be stuck to 30 frames like black myth.

The easier method is to turn on developer mode in decky loader and browse and install to the zip file. The whole properties method was NOT working for me.

The great news is is I got it all working and that was awesome. The bad news is is some of the games that it says use it don't like path of the exile 2. It crashes the game which is not hard. You just leave the command line to make it start but just a heads up

To install the mod, simply download the zip in desktop mode and leave it in the downloads folder go back to steamos and make sure you have activate the developer mode of the steam deck activate the developer mode of decky loader and now you can select install a file from a zip for future update it's the best way thank again for all your video and sory for my english i'm a frenchy i have tested this mod and i prefer the other method with optiscaler because you can switch and configure the upscaler

Something I had some troubles with in installing this is that it could be finicky if you're on the SteamOS beta channel. I was having difficulty getting the plugin to recognize and at one point it hosed my deckyload to where I could no longer see it in my game mode options. It wasn't until I changed back to stable mode was when it came back. Love your channel by the way.

Yes, but it's not really dlss. It translates it to fsr or xess upscaling.

Once you have the plugin installed and mod installed, you can manually add the launch options command /home/deck/fgmod/fgmod %command% to your non-steam games.

That plugin actually did the FGMOD installation for you without tinkering or manually installing it. Changing your permissions on homebrew is a bad idea, especially if you don't know Linux permissions, as the Game Mode uses a different user (deck), so Decky Loader follows it, and that's why you got errors on Step 4. I also beg to disagree to remove manual files on the game directory, as the FGMOD actually stays on a different directory. Uninstalling the patch is easy to remove the contents on launch options of a game that you were suppose to.

There's an fgmod-uninstaller.sh which you just execute to remove the mod files from the game directory. Just deleting the launch options command doesn't remove the mod. How would you install the plugin without changing the permissions of homebrew folder? Thanks for the advice 😃

Check if you put it in the right directory. Someone mentioned he only unzipped it into homebrew folder instead of plugins folder. Another said they put it inside plugins folder but they had another folder inside the decky-framegen folder.

I extracted the zip file straight into the homebrew folder which basically created an extra folder so there was a decky-framegen folder inside the decky-framegen folder, I just got rid of the extra folder and made sure the permissions on the homebrew folder were all good, and that fixed it. I used the 4.0 version btw. In case anyone else runs into the same problem... 😅

This also installs the latest main build which is 3.0.2 currently so the optiscaler is not updated yet. If you want the latest then manual installing is the way to go.

After installing this, I no longer able to launch No Man's Sky. Do you know how to remove this plugin from the individual game directory? I've removed the launch options but I think there is more than that need to be removed. Even after removing the launch options, No Man's Sky still can't launch.

this does copy files to the folder, and if I remember correctly even if you uninstall the game, these files still are there. One of the bad side affects of this solution. I think you will need to find the game folder and delete by hand

It should work as I have tried using dlss enabler mod on jedi survivor but it was non-steam version. It could be because the steam version doesn't support it which does happen sometimes and unfortunately I don't have the steam version of that game to test.

@kam3shek I searched online, seems the doesn't support frame generation natively so there's no toggle for it. Do this kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5zYm4BpftCLbc0igr=GrownUpGaming just the same as ff7 rebirth, doesn't have native frame generation.

As this installs the latest main build of dlss enabler mod, currently 3.0.2, this version doesn't have the updated optiscaler. So for ff7 rebirth, manually installing the latest version of the mod 3.0.3 is the way to go.

What game? Make sure you in-game resolution matches your screen resolution. Or mess around with windowed or borderless.
