[FRAMED] Holly Parker - Fashion, Swimwear, and Beauty model and photographer!

Holly Parker is one talented and amazing human being. She was focusing on re-touching photos and modeling prior to picking up a camera. When we met up with her in Miami back in 2014, she had only really been taking photos for 6 months!
Holly met up with her friend Amy Scott for an amazing photoshoot on the beach and in the water.
Holly has a very unique perspective as she is more than just "IN" the Photography and Modeling industry.

I'm glad Framed is back. But please do some videos of photographers who take pictures of real people. Photographers who exclusively photograph fashion models have it kinda easy. I'd like to you feature more creative/conceptual photographers, corporate/commercial photographers, etc.

+Bodie Richardson (Bodez95) Thanks for your comment, I will try much harder for the next episode. We did have a pretty low budget set for the interview. We found a bank that had working air conditioning, and it was abandoned. So, we took advantage to a quiet, cool place to conduct the interview part of the episode. I am sorry you are disappointed with the quality of the show. You are right though, Holly Parker is pretty amazing.

First and foremost im so glad you guys are back and providing interviews again. I truly enjoyed watching all the past videos - my favorite being the Prison video with all film cameras. I LOVE everything about it. This video was really interesting as I haven't heard of too many instances where a model has found her passion in photography and does it so well. She made some great images and I am with her on the vision and goal to shoot high end fashion with BIG productions. For me, part of the joy of photography is everything leading up to the shoot, than making the shoot materialize. Sad thing (for me of course) is I know it will be much easier for her to break into the market than me. Shes known so already has a list of models, hair and makeup in addition to stylists/designers to work with. Im doing everything on my own because I cannot for the life of me find people to work with. Ive been shooting for 5 years and LOVE it. I am now embarking on teaching myself clothes design, learning makeup and prop building so that I can realize my dreams of big productions. It would be interesting to see another interview with her in a year or so and see how shes progressed. Please keep making videos and if you ever need someone and are in the Mississippi Gulf Coast area I would love to shoot with you all.Frank

I love interviews with photographers and appreciate the video, but holy hell that music. Around 6:00 it's almost comedic with synth horn hits while she's talking.

She is very interesting, but the editing of this video is rather horrible. here are a few of the gripes i have about the editing 1) The music for the first 2 songs is way off beat from the "vibe" of the photographer, it just feels like they threw in something with a beat even though that beat doesn't exist in the video itself, more soothing/sexy music would have done wonders. 2) A large chunk that music is overlaid a big amount of the dialog which is then very hard to hear 3) The transitions and effects between scenes were bad particularly the fades out feels really bad.

Her retouching has always been bad and over done with dodge and burning skin smoothing. Shes only dated male photographers that she copies but never learned the real techniques. Shes doing the photographer gig because as a girl its easier on social media to get a model fanbase behind you. Her work alone is weak, and is average by standards of free agency test shooters. She doesnt what she wants to be, first it was music and than she dumped that look and entire get up to be a "model", and now photography/ make up artist/ hair stylist/ identity crisis. Highlight stronger up and comers, not industry try hards. Thats not just my opinion, but an industry one of several photographers.

I like her portfolio and she seems a nice person. Yet I find myself holding back after yet another super gorgeous model gets a free advert. It just feels lazy from the Framed producers. Go out and find normality. The cleaner, painter or labourer struggling to break through. This is a good video and she has talent but it is so hard to relate to in the real world of strugglesville.

Shes only dated photographers who she can use to get ahead by copying their retouching and using contacts. Shes also a wannabe model more than an actual model. Shes not doing major work and the agencies shes signed with are not the major agencies she shoots models from. Shes just another female photographer using her body and looks, and familiarity of being the "girlfriend" to get ahead via social media. She cant rely on her work alone to get attention. Her work is actually over retouched and average.
