I was surprised to see you cutting from a bar in the beginning. It seems like every time I price out material it's cheaper to get it cut to size out of a plate rather than buy a bar and cut the bar up myself. And it saves the step of sawing and I can get it cut closer to the size I need than typical bar sizes.

Nice work! What CAM software are you using? Also, did you chop off the dovetails in the next Op?

Judging by the finished product, they are using Fusion, and are new to 5x and machining in general. Nothing wrong with that, either. To get to where they are takes a lot of investment and dedication.

I think you might be mistaken about them being new to 5x. I'm guessing these parts are prototypes and don't need to have perfect surface finishes. 5 Dev are not new to 5x. I believe these are the same guys behind the company "5th Axis" work holding. @@Mike-lt6sj

That’s not how you use a torque wrench.

LOL that's how you use a torque wrench when you wrench every day and know what you are doing.

Nice part, shame about the surface finish though.

I'm sure that it goes through polishing and glass bead blasting before anodizing

At 2‘25“: PLEASE, Mr. Operator!!! Please do NOT tighten further After the „click“(if the torque wrench was set correctly)!!! You will shear the material(6061???7075???) in / at(?) the clamping area/ zone. You may also provoke subsequent cracking in the material structure! Be careful, please!!! Have a nice day!

Mmmm, it's just an extrusion. The extrusions parent was a billet. Usually, these terms are abused by Motorsports marketing teams. Now there's hipsters with machine tools making expensive 5x parts. For a bicycle, no less.

Glasses for what ? Its a CNC shop....I've worked in plenty without safety glass requirements. Also of note we use junk torque wrenches in machines all the time....really no point in getting coolant in your precision toruqe wrench.
