Great job Vic, bloody top photo! I did a frame for my home town photo…the last tack I put in cracked the glass…to say I wasn’t impressed was beyond belief….but it was only a small crack…so it stayed 😂😂😂👏👏

Great video and great frame. I always enjoy seeing old wood reclaimed and reused. Nice photo that reminds all woodworkers there's a big community out there.

Real nice looking wood on that frame especially after you put on that finish! I love how you use recycled materials in your projects. Great video as always, thanks for sharing. Shalom from Mesa, Arizona USA!

I worked for a picture framers back in the 80's, and a little tip is to glue on a piece of brown paper on the back of the frame to seal it against dust etc. first, take a sheet of brown paper, cut it to size and glue it down, stretching it out as much as you can. then when the glue is dry, spray it with a little water to dampen it or wipe it with a wet cloth. as it dries, it will tighten up to give a professional looking finish. great work there, love the timber you used.

Thank you very much Catey. I've seen the old paper backing on a few frames now. Thanks for the tip and info, as this one is in my workshop i may have to do that.

Love your work mate. One tip...don't push so hard when cutting glass. It's only a fine score as opposed to tiles. I use the same pressure for 2mm - 12mm float/lam. Keep up the great vids. Cheers

I think, but I might be mistaken, that the photo should not be resting on the glass. Before I do that, I will check with someone to frames for the better photographers.
@DownUnderWoodWorks2 жыл бұрын
Yes you're right, the photo can stick to the glass over time and can be damaged if removed. I have no intention of removing the photo but if i did, photos are relatively cheap to print so i'd just get another.
@oneeyedphotographer2 жыл бұрын
@@DownUnderWoodWorks In this case you're right. If you bought an unframed photograph from Christian Fletcher, it would matter a lot more. You don't know how valuable a photograph your audience would want to frame. Even yours could be valuable in time, as a historical record. The State LIbrary of western Australia is sharing lots of photos of historical interest from over a century ago.
