At 6' 5", and a bit portly, you would need jaws of life to get me in and out of the bathroom/shower. I'll be interested to see if it shrinks further after you case the inside in waterproof material. Nice progress.

As a sailing fan, you all hooked me with the Great Loop but I have to admit I’m truly enjoying the van build… a lot!! Great story telling. Q: why are you using pocket screws vs just going through the ends of the framing (when possible)?

Thanks Gary! And no reason, really, considering pocket screws. Sometimes since the jig is set up its easy to create pocket holes and I have those screws easily accessible. For screwing through the ends I'd have to find screws but really theres no reason. Cheers!

Is there any concern about weight with the wood framing? I figured it would be the aluminum studs for this.

Weight is definitely a concern! We considered an aluminum build but went with wood for this build, because it would be simple to cut and form to the van, and also we can use all our existing tools without learning too much more about 80/20 aluminum. Aluminum can be lighter weight, but there are many more pieces required so its not as black and white as it may seem! We may try aluminum for future work though!
