KZbin comments make it clear that there is a world-wide surplus of self-important snipers from the sidelines. To me this is a very satisfying performance.

"Les concerts royaux" and all his viola da gamba pieces are personally beloved oeuvres by Maitre Couperin le Grand. These promising talented performers that values tradition of interpretation that was lay down for these pieces by maestro Jordi Saval charm with carefully calibrated tone, precise yet soft phrazing and unhurried timing. That loving attention to the subtleties of the Maitre's every piece allows to unfold the very many petals of every rose in the Couperin's garden. Grand merci à tous.

I have tried playing the last selection , but in a version in G major for alto . Those french rythyms are tricky and yet a lot of fun. Wonderful playing!

These pieces were composed by Couperin (who played the harpsichord) to distract the King Louis XIV form the melancholy dur to the austerity imposed to the French court by the devout Marquise de Maintenon.

You might want to do a shift on the violin and hold the bow right to start. A nice comedy show

Can someone link examples of equal or greater cultural achievements, but from non-western cultures? As an example, what is the African equivalent of this?
@mideuropeearlymusicfestiva35852 жыл бұрын
There is no examples, African and American also. Classical music is not only an art, but also a field of science!

Do you think the western culture can do something like Pyramids? No, I don't think so... That's one of thousands things. But I don't want to compare cultures. The west was in one thing above all others and that was/is Genozid, raping, Concentration camps,... and destroying other cultures all over the world. Nowadays the western countries in the western EU don't even identify themselves with something like Music of Baroque. The normal citizens of western EU(9 in 10) loves Mc Donald's culture and Rock Music if he is very civilized and do think that McDonalds is a high-class culture value and if there is no McDonalds they would die immediately.(I studied/graduated Oboe in the City of Essen-Germany). The people who loves real music like Couperins music are not even 1 in 1000.

The Renaissance and baroque music has it roots in Lute from Arabs. If Arabs didn't came to Europe, there would be no European today because the people killed each other massively(that toldem me my Professor in Germany)and they had until the Arabs come no noticeable knowledge about music, mathematic, Physic, chemistry, medicine, and many other disciplines.
