I could listen to Truffaut talk all day long. What an incredible man.

This is an interview with Eric Rohmer, I think it runs as long as 17 minutes. Criterion could upload it in a whole!

He talks about being amazed by Vigo, a French director. One of ours. That's interesting and then came The 400 Blows...sorry about not using the French title. At least I spelled it properly in English. By the way, glory be to any filmmaker that treats young people seriously...Vigo, Truffaut, Lindsay Anderson...

"Les Quatre Cents Coups" would be the french title. And yes, both Truffaut and Anderson based their films on Vigo's Zero for Conduct.

I like Truffaut, but he doesn't say anything here. I would love to know what did he find in the film that made such an impact on him. He simply says: "I loved it because I was a child and I was more open to it than adults".

Pablo Manzano This is the peculiarity with oral history sources, they give us the flow of the raw interview, and it is sometimes out of focus and unpredictable like we humans are. I get your point and surely that would be interesting to know his answers to those questions, but let's enjoy what we have instead: we get to follow the path that the memory of The Atalante put Truffaut' s mind on.

If I was a woman, I would have married Truffaut. I love the guy so freaking unimaginable much.

Criterion needs to upload more content on Rohmer and Rivette, they mostly focus on Godard and Truffaut.
