El Hadji Diouf, Henri Camara, Salif Diao, Papa Bouba Diop, Aliu Cisse, Tony Sylva... Oh the grand memories of WC 2002! I was 16 and managed to watch pretty much all the games(missed some that were played at the same time with other games). I was almost glued to the TV screen for one month. I was rooting for Brazil thanks to Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos but I was also sympathizing for the african teams aswell. World Cup is always special for me because during the tournament I can see players who I don't see otherwise and it's always so fun to see some new names to strike through even though they most often weren't known too well before the tournament.

The 2002 WC is most memorable WC for me although my fav team didnt win it But because it was held also in Asia and I'm in Asia So most matches were held in afternoon or early in the evening My country really had WC fever because matches were held at friendly times for us People even who were not into football also watched the matches Unlike when it is held in european countries, where most matches played really really late by our local time, only true football fans were willing to wait until that late

I am an American of African descent. That Senegal team had swagger at that time. Scoring 14 goals and only conceding 2 in the African World Cup 2002 Qualifying!
