I'll never forget that time. I just turned 9 years old back then, and I was looking forward to the World Cup. I saw "France vs Senegal" and I had never even heard of Senegal, yet I saw France as a force in world football/soccer. So I was almost certain that France would totally whitewash Senegal. But when I saw that Senegal won 1-0, I was so shocked it was unbelievable. It certainly felt like seeing minnows winning against world kings.

France was the best team in the world at the time. Much like now. So Senegal wasn't intimidated by France and on top of that the Senegalese players played in the French league. Therefore, they knew how the French played.
