Best opening ever. France is clearly stacked with some Brontosaurus, T-Rex and Velociraptors. Btw, this list will be updated after every French training camps. So Jelonch or Falatea could be back in the summer. Watch out Gailleton, he could be their unexpected factor-x coming from the bench. Incredible talent.

Yeah the depth and talent in rugby at the moment in France is enormous. This is truly their best chance to win the RWC so far (3 lost finals already). Doesn't mean they will cause there are other teams just as good, but boy do they look good. One thing is certain though, they are gonna produce amazing rugby at the RWC.

It’s crazy cause Ireland also have the best chance they’ve ever have to win it. I’m all France though but if France loses I’ll root for Ireland. Either way it’s going to be a wild ride of a World Cup. France winning it in France would just mind blowing.

Pretty much agree with your selection. Although Dulin has done very well this season and his left foot very much a good alternative to that of the fly halves and of Ramos, I'm never too convinced by his choices. Jaminet has a massive boot and also know very well how the team operates whereas Dulin hasn't quite been in the works for a while. Gailleton is very very fast and could well be the 33rd man. Overall, you need 2 teams to win a world cup and that's what we've got! 😊

@@Gilescowdemdem I think France will be fit for the worldcup. During the 6 Nations, french players were kind of exhausted (players like Dupont or Alldritt played twice more than 2000 min in the last two seasons, which is quite insane) and the staff chose to have their peak for the game in Twickenham (they announced a big game their at the beginning of tournament and didn't disappoint). The world cup at home is the challenge of their career, they will be ready. Still, Ireland are a serious contender for the title.

Hi, interesting to see that you have the same analysis across the channel :) Seems that we finally get some consistency I have never seen in France before. Just a few comments: Dumortier is more probably the Villière's backup and Bielle-Barrey the Penaud's backup: the first two play left wing and the second two play right wing in club. I'd take Gailleton instead of Moefana: this young man is the most promising centre I've seen since Jauzion! (imho) You can also imagine Dulin getting Jaminet's position. As for the 33rd man to go to the WC, Bielle-Barrey could be an option, indeed, but I think they'll take another scrum guy, probably a lock.

With hindsight - as Galthié has just published the squad list-, not shabby at all !.. I commend your knowledge of French rugby ! The breakdown is in fact 19 x 14 ;Your biggest misses are about Serin and Dulin. For the former, Couilloud is the choice and for the latter, Jaminet managed to squeeze in, for his superb boot and distribution, not forgetting that he was the post holder last year for the grand slam and, importantly, the win over the blacks. and he left the team only because of injuries. As for Cretin, it was easy for everyone to have not seen how Jelonch got better and claimed a spot on that back row. Let's face it : that row composed of Gros - Alldritt - Jelonch looks quite formidable, doesn't it ? As for the youngsters, Louis Bielle - Biarret is pure dynamite.

France should already have 2 World Cups in its bag, that of 1995 and especially that of 2011. But the Anglo-Saxon referees of the Anglo-Saxon mafia who drive World Rugby had done their job to prevent that. So unless France is vastly superior to all the other big teams in avoiding and giving itself a margin on this trap vs it of arbitration by Anglo-Saxons referees for Anglo-Saxon teams, it will still be the case during this World Cup 2023. If the sum of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts then consideration should be given to players ability to leverage others capabilities. For example, the ability and willingness to pass under pressure, frequency of support play, leadership, etc. While acknowledging and ranking individual skills, perhaps more attention should also be given to ranking players on their ability to create synergies with colleagues.

@jonathanwilson3254
@jonathanwilson3254 Жыл бұрын
@@888young2 First of all accurately defining what actions constitute synergistic play (may be a good open ended question to ask your colleagues), then many hours of video tracking and scoring individual players against this rubric. This score could be used in multiple ways (comparative ranking by position, consistency of score, overall ranking, etc.). In this way players can be identified in terms of their added value beyond being fine athletes with good individual skills. Thus the evaluation of players moves beyond impressive individualism to focus on their skill in relating to others in the heat of battle. I am of the opinion that it is the relational component that creates the slim marginal competitive advantage that separates teams at this level.

I have to disagree with the fullback selection. Dulin has looked incredibly strong with La Rochelle for 2 seasons now and Jaminet has had a very weak season with Toulouse. Galthie is going to lean on players from La Rochelle who proved they could beat Ireland (2 finals in a row won against Leinster), as they are the main team to beat. That makes me think that players like Hastoy, Dulin and Boudehent will have a bigger than expected role to play in this world cup. I don't think Jaminet makes the cut. I would rather bet on another forward, Chalureau is very likely to make the cut, he can play 2nd and 3rd row, he's got an amazing workrate and physicality, and was instrumental in Montpellier winning the Top 14 in 2022.

It really is a remarkable set of players. They have the top 3 in the world in pretty much every position. How do France seem to breed such enormous men relative to the brits? The french league is more ethnically diverse and the players of African descendant have immense physical ability. England need to overcome their classism in rugby to attract players from all diasporas in order to compete with France and South Africa
