Alba-Only music survives Michael Cretu-Samurai Among the French tracks I like the most the song from Chateauvallon(very popular in my country).

as someone who grew up in europe but now in US, these european airplay charts are much more exciting and colorful to me than the US (and UK) charts of that time. It seems as if there was an iron curtain surrounding US when it came to music; in such a way that american songs made it out, but almost no songs from continental europe made it in to america, even though those european songs were also famous in every other continent of the world. I feel like it was US’s loss really.

On peut voir un certain décalage entre le Top Radio et le Top 50. Quand on voit que "Rock Me Amadeus" était Top 3 en radio mais n'est jamais entré dans le Top 50 !

C'est parce que le top 50 était entièrement fondé sur ce que les beaufs achetaient au supermarché du coin et pas ce que les jeunes écoutaient à la radio. En particulier pour 1985 avec énormément de pop européenne venant d'italie, d'allemagne ou de grande bretagne dont le français moyen qui écoute Peter et Sloane et Licence IV n'avait que faire...

Mon pere ma tjr dit que pour lui ses meilleures annees sont : 1984 1985 et 1986 et que 1985 cest inimaginable tellement cetait bon comme annee. Meme 1986 cetait excellent pour lui, pas tres loin de 1985. Et soudain a partir de 1987 il a senti des changements profonds venir comme (declin new wave italo disco tres fort) et (larrivee de la house, rap, new jack swing, italo house, acid house, etc. Progressivement)
