Going back here because FIBA World Cup 2023 in the Philippines is happening in a few weeks. I just miss the times when we're really sending tough and competitive basketball teams to compete with the best in the world. We may have lost here but clearly, respect is earned for this Gilas squad. They put up a really good fight against France. Kudos to Coach Tab and his system. No you need a solid grass roots program instead of looking for americans with filipino blood and naturalized players. You need to be able to stand on your on two feet as a basketball program. you need to train tall guys how ro be flexible (dribble, shoot, be faster and more well rounded).. instead of your rough very physical game. Youre basketball team will get slaughtered by europeans and americans if you cant produce 6'6" to 6'8" guys who can play guard-forward and shoot consistently

at least china doesnt rely on naturalized players or half blooded chinese americans.. they build their players from childhood and tgats why their program is one of the best in asia. While the Philippines keep begging for half filipino players and naturalized players to play for them.
