The day France shut us down,truly deserved indeed. That particular game was just a day to forget ASAP. We had the best team but not (by far) the best coach. With Scariolo,that probably wouldn't happen. But hey...France was way better that day ,so we gotta recognize.

You won this duel so many times :) . Spain has been the reference and the "european monster" for 13 years. And God we "hated" you with all your tricks, acts and dirty defense, but that's part of basketball, who doesn't like the Bad Boys Pistons? And before that game when Gasol or Navarro took over, there was nothing anyone could do. So yes it was very special for us to beat that team once again. Just to remind how badass Spain was/is: between 2006 and 2019 counting Olympics, Eurobasket and Fiba worldcup 5 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals, 3 Bronze Medals, only two years without medals... And by far the only team who could answer , even if not win, to the best US teams in the Olympics finals. So proud of France that day.
