Giselle Pelicot is honestly the most courageous person I've seen in my lifetime. I'm not kidding - watching her maintain her composure and unwavering commitment to bring these horrible men to justice is simply astonishing. Her very vocal stance that any shame around this case belongs with the perpetrators alone is nothing short of heroic. I mean, yes intuitively we know this is true, but in fact it is far too often the case that a victim is at risk of essentially being accused of being somehow complicit which is so far beyond disgusting, we usually don't have words. For her to hold her head high, expose her identity and allow everyone to see exactly what happened to her, and say "no! THEY are guilty!" Seriously - I think she deserves a Nobel prize or something similar. The reason is because of the multiple defendants. If they had pled guilty, then she would not have to continually testify. But, because so many have pled not guilty, then they have a right to trial. They are, essentially, having to hold multiple trials - one for each defendant. However, because each case involves the Pelicots (one as a co-conspirator who has confessed, the other as a victim) then they get continually dragged to the stand - for every single defendant. I have no time for Dominique - he is a monster and deserves no sympathy. But this must be so hard on Gisele. However, she is an absolute warrior and has chosen to fight all of those who harmed her, to ensure they see justice. I truly hope that facing each of them is helpful for her and her healing process. The amount she is doing to raise awareness and to break the stigma victims often face is outstanding. I hope she receives the awards and accolades she deserves - and, most importantly, a sense of justice and peace after everything she has gone through.

They literally have no defense. They were seen on video, so there’s no denial that they were there. She was clearly unconscious and/or sleeping, meaning that she couldn’t consent. Their only excuse, which doesn’t work at all, is that the husband “said it was okay.” That’s not how consent is determined in developed countries. They have nothing. No denial, no excuse. They can’t even say “I went there for another reason and he forced me into it” because the forum they talked on was titled “without her consent.” For once, the rapists can’t even use their ridiculous “she was dressing provocatively” line. They’re done.

Even if the husband had told these men that his wife had given her consent, this does not change anything. Unless someone hears it from the person themself, you can't assume it's voluntary. At best, they just didn't care. At worst, it was exactly what they wanted, to rape someone who doesn't know about it. In any case, they are adult men who are responsible for their actions. And they are not the innocent people they claim to be. How old are you guys, 10?

We all know. He did the same thing to his daughter that he did to his wife. He was just better at hiding the evidence of what he did to the daughter so he gets to get away with that crime. And it’s not like the other participants will come forward and confess.

You can never love your daughter if you do this to her mother. Or any woman. Even if you didn't do anything se..ual to her, imagine knowing that your dad did this to your mom. There also should be testimonies of the wives and daughters of the other men that participated and what they wrecked. And the sons as well, imagine being looked at as the son of a creep. Don't these men ever care about their families and communities? Did they just have families to have a facade?

Happy to be single. I have no use for men anymore. There aren’t enough good men out there shouting out loud to end misogyny and support women’s equality. We have taken the backseat for centuries and it doesn’t seem to get any better. This case is beyond disgusting and my heart breaks for what this woman has endured. Every one of her rapists needs to have his picture plastered on the front page of every newspaper. Stop protecting their rights and start protecting the victim’s rights. Everyone certainly knows what she looks like.
